How would Florida have fared against UVW on the same stage?

We looked good against a high school team., which beats not looking good against a high school team.

We'll see if we can take the next step and look good against a team we've beaten 31 years in a row.

Not sure when we'll get proof of anything
Taking into account the opposition, Franks did not look like a deer in the headlights, which is the first time I can say that about Feleipe Franks.

Very pleased with the two transfer WRs Grimes and Jefferson. Not pleased at all with the OL, they got little to no push against an FCS team.

We actually blocked a kick, and came close to blocking a punt. That was good to see also. Our special teams was a dumpster fire under McElwain.
Even though it was a little brother the gators beat last night, the gators had a different air about them. Energetic, enthusiastic, and having fun. Dan has them boys believing and they've bought in.

Granted, they haven't encountered adversity yet this season, I think they'll handle it just fine when they do. Kentucky, for you guys, is gonna be a mere bump in the road. The VOLS may well be your first test that I'm hoping the gators fail...miserably! :p

If “ifs” and “buts” were candy and nuts.....

We gave up 430 passing yards and 5 TD’s. The score honestly suggests it was closer than the game really was. We were in it for about 10 minutes of game time. That was it.

He’s a true Heisman hopeful and we have a very young secondary. It didn’t help that the linebackers didn’t do a lot either. I get it. We can play that game all day...just pointing out that there were some bright spots and as bad as I hate to say it “we need to be patient” for the millionth time.

There was no reason for anyone other than UF fans to watch our game.

I caught most of UT-WVU, missed a good portion of the 3rd quarter because I didn’t realize the game had resumed. What stuck out was the OL adjustments as the first half progressed, and inexperience in the secondary.

I thought JG and Jordan played well, but I fear JG will have a target on his back against SEC d-lines.
Considering how the OL started the game they settled in well. The next 3 weeks and 2 opponents will help them sort out who needs to be where. JG earned some more responsibility with the ball. WV gave him some room but he was also on time and accurate. I feel better about the O than the D. LBs were MIA and the non FR in the secondary with experience are not getting it done. The FR looked like FR which is expected. I dont think Pruitt blitzes as much going forward the FR are not ready for the island.

The next test for Pruitt is how much better can he get them before UF. Not whether he beats ETSU by 40 instead of 20.

UF may have lost but it wouldnt have been as bad as we did. UT fans just do not understand how bad of a team Pruitt has. They dont want to accept it. Think about it, name one player on our roster, besides Smith, that would be starters on UF, UGA, SC or even Missouri? Look at Pruitts recruiting. Loading up on defense, especially DL and DBs. Why is that? He knows we are small and lacking in both areas.

We need to face the fact that Butchs ability to spot HS talent for SEC play was woefully inadequate. I mean think about it, did Butch really beat a good SEC team? He beat SC in 2013, but that was with Dooleys guys. As far as UF, they still have a good defense and much better athletes than we do.
