fulmer is a great recruiter ijust hope he has better answers to give these kids, than these lame excuses he gives the media when they ask why the offense stinks. it's going to hurt.

Even though I don't want J. Clausen, we better get him after all this bullcrap.

i do not want another clausen up here. they are a curse and a jinx. they have done nothing good here. and from what i hear j. clausen is all physical and has no mental picture of football coverages or any of the other intangibles.

Me too. I was just being funny. I have no other explanation as to why we have a Clausen right now.

What we really need is to be blackmailed by another superstar's family.

If CPF can get anyone above a 2 star recruit to commit to Tennessee this year Ill fall over in shock. I hope he can but facts are facts...the custodian who sweeps out the offensive players lockers probably has to be told that the pile he swept up needs to be put in a container. :ill_h4h:

Dude, he's 16 years old. I didn't develop a mental picture of anything until I was at least 27.

yeah, but with all the coaching he has gotten from his brothers he should of picked up on all that stuff.

Who cares about recruiting right now? There are many other things to worry about, like what our coaches are doing with the ones we have now.

will this hurt us from now on? this is by far the worst season in 15 years. and those young kids dont wanna play for this team.

I'd say it's a double edged sword. Some guys will go elsewhere. Some kids will see it as a chance to play early and want to come here.

It will not effect recruiting at all... UT is a big time program.

Are you sure you don't want to be a VOL? Well, give it a week and then think about it.

Honestly...UF had 3 straight 5 loss seasons and still recruited top 10 a couple times.

A running QB. Now you're talking.

Crompton is far from what I would call a running qb, he's mobile but he's not a running qb, Ainge is faster than him.

You dismiss the fact that teams in trouble sometimes have the best selling tools for recruits. Look at Auburn 2004 team and Alabama 2005 team. Phil can sell "Follow Me To Tennesse" <sorry John Majors for the plagiarism>

Who doesn't recruit potential big time players in the SEC (out of the real big time teams)?

Our problem is that we have to go all over the country since Tennesse HS football sucks in preparing top notched prospects for college play. And our ability to encroach in GA, a major populace, is now diminished.

It's still a crap shoot but what we have at UT is not what Alabama, Florida, and now Georgia, have which is HS coaches who emulate the college game and do so by following the lead of the in state university football team.

So we get all these other world hotshots who, few of them, have this inborn sense of SEC football.

Per www.rivals.com

Crompton runs a 4.8 40 yd dash
Ainge runs a 4.6 40 yd dash

If you ask me and you didn't, I think that Fulmer and company need to go East to Virginia for some recruits while they're shopping around the country.

Virginia Tech is nothing but Virginia players. The ones that aren't are from D.C or Maryland. The tidewater region has some great players. I'm proud that the #3 team in the nation is made up of Va players, yet not so proud because none of them play for Tennessee.

VA, Fl, TX, CAL It does embarrass me some to see the Vols line-up and see maybe 5 players out of 22 from Tenn.....

Id agree with that. We seem to cover Va Beach and Norfolk areas, But that is just a drop in the hat compaired to some other parts of the state (Blackstone, Fredricksburg, Richmond etc)

Even SWVA, while D1 talent isnt as abundant, there has been the Jones brothers from PV. I dont get out to HS games as i used to, but people i know that do never fail to mention to me the Tech scouts at the Gate City games.

I came up playing in the old Highlands district, There are some big and tough kids up in those mountains of Va.
