Ole Miss Houston Nutt. Nutt is the only man walking around the lobby of the Sandestin Hilton this week with knowledge on how to beat Florida in the last 12 months. He might also deserve one of Florida's national title rings after providing the Gators with extra motivation after that 31-30 loss in late September.

So, how about it, Houston? What advice would you give opposing coaches on how to beat Florida this year?

It all starts with turnovers, Nutt said. As you recall, Florida had four of them that day. And Ole Miss was giving the ball away often before that game and decided to keep the ball.

Then you must limit the big plays.

"They are so explosive," Nutt said. "You've got a guy like Tim Tebow who's so awesome. You limit them to instead of maybe 15 big plays, you limit them to eight or nine. Defensively you have to be able to get up and down the field. And you have to score, beause they are going to score."

Then you must have at least one dominant defensive lineman. Ole Miss has Greg Hardy, who got after Tebow all day.

"Even if he didn't get to Tebow, he rushed or hurried them or got his hands on him," Nutt said
.

sounds pretty easy

Monte's schemes are designed to generate turnovers. I hope this helps.

Know what you're supposed to do with the ball and do it. Works for Eric Berry.

Exactly, and we have enough playmakers in the secondary to take it to the house or get it close enough to where if our offense isn't that great we can still get a score.

And here I thought you just had to score more points than them in 60 minutes, give or take any over time periods.

That and the Gators not taking OM seriously. It had a heck of a lot more to do with that win than Nutt having the formula.

I'm anxiously awaiting Nutt's next installment titled "How to beat Vandy". Word is it's a collaborative effort between him and Spurrier.

LMAO how did I know Eric Berry was gonna be mentioned in this thread.

Why does he have to have 3 ints? Can another DB not have them?
Get off of his nuts.

Here are three ways to beat Florida

1) Injure Tebow
2) Force Alot Of Turnovers
3) Play a tough style of play and run the ball "hard"

So basically Nutt is saying that, to beat Florida, you need to do the same thing you do to beat any good team; get after the QB, limit big plays, cause turnovers, score points, and don't turn the ball over. Groundbreaking stuff there.

Here's a thought on how to beat Florida

Hire a new coach that can get inside CUM'S head enough to drive him crazy.

This nothing but Coach-speak. The formula is the same for any team you play. Don't turn the ball over, establish the run, make plays, cause the other team to turn the ball over, hurry the QB.... and score in the red zone.

Our problem was we didn't do half of that with most of the teams we played last year.

EDIT: and go for it on 4th and short!!!

Ya thats true, I don't think florida had hit their stride yet, and the whole tebow speech just got them riled up like a bunch of animals. Lets just hope you guys don't play like we did in the swamp last year. (actually I want you guys to get killed but we will see what kiffin has up his sleeve)

Hit the nail on the head, It's one thing to know how to beat a team, it's another to actually beat them.

The turnover comment will always be true. We have not won the turnover battle against uf since at least 2000 (I didn’t look any farther back than ‘01) :

‘08 (-3) ‘07 (-2) ‘06 (-1) ‘05 (-1) ‘04 (-2)W ‘03 (0)W ‘02 (0) ‘01 (0)W

I think it will be awesome when CLK and the Big Orange go into Gainesville and break the series deadlock which now stands at 19-19. Also on a somewhat related note maybe a ref will step up and blow a big call (that’s preferably against fla) and they can break the series “blacklisted refs” which is 1-1.*

* We ask for and received a banning of Al Matthews to ever ref one of our games for his
‘call’ that allowed Jabar Gaffney to hold onto a pas for .002 of a second and it count as
a game-winning touchdown.

Bobby Moreau got banned from reffing any Gainesville games in 2004. Why you ask? I
don’t care, we won!

Oh wait. . . the trollops demand equal time. .after all this is their boa. . uh, oh yeah this is'NT their board. So THATS why we call them trollops.
