How Stetson Bennett and George Pickens matchup against Vols' split safety coverage

I like the matchup. If we can get pressure on Bennet our D can and will feast. All the talk is on UGAs front 7 vs our OLine but our D is pretty damn good too. UGAs offense doesn't scare me. It's going to be a low scoring game and with a few breaks we can pull the upset. Gonna be a snot bubble type of day

One guy on the radio said he didn't think Daniel's was ready to play.. His opinion obviously.. But is interesting.

Even if Daniel's is ready to play. That will help us...

Bennett can hurt us with his feet because he can be accurate throwing too

I keep saying to my son, he's a preferred walk on last year ... fourth string to start this season.
When Pruitt and Ansley dial up the pressure, he will make mistakes.
Hopefully, those mistakes will be catastrophic for UGA,, and we can take advantage, turn those mistakes into points, and dust UGA.

I have a friend who works with UGA football who says he has the yips and refuses to put any pressure on his hurt leg. Hopping around after all throws and not following through. He thinks they're in big trouble if they have to go to JT anytime soon.

Pickens is a nightmare matchup for just about anybody. We are going to have to get a good pass rush all game long and not give up the big play quick scores to have a chance to win.

Two star schmoo star. Stars don't matter once you hit the field. Their offense has shown to rally around Bennett, and he has shown to be able to make the throws. If we don't get pressure on him, then he can beat us.

Having Shamburger back should be a huge boost to our secondary though, allowing our secondary to play their natural positions.

Against AU they ran the ball 45 times and only attempted 28 passes. I'm more concerned about stopping the run. Just like JG, i'm gun shy. Recent history about UT stopping the run is not good but starting with MSST last year we've made significant strides. Cook was banged up last week, and if we can cause White to "think" we'll have a real chance. Last week those backs had so much confidence.

This thread reminds me of the threads before the Florida game last year when some unknown QB picked our secondary apart. Our play in that game contributed to that kid becoming a Heisman candidate this year.

But he’s a Dawg to the bone and plays with more heart than some of those higher ranked kids. I think he does just what they need to win and so far hasn’t made mistakes. Our task is to shut down their running game and force him into 3rd and long passing situations.

But I respect the kid for sticking to his guns and walking on when nobody thought he had a chance to play.

Bennett has done what’s needed to run the offense. Similar to JG so far. None of their competition has been able to limit the run and hopefully we will do that.

Like him or not, Jimmy Hyams pointed out he is a 2 star for a reason. Thinks if they stick with Bennett, we have a good shot at winning.

He will look like a 5th string QB tomorrow. However, given our past history, they will insert their 6th string QB, and he will play like the leading Heisman candidate. Hopefully my first sentence is the only true statement in this post.

Defensive strategy today should be: stop the run and make the short guy with noodle arm make difficult throws from inside the pocket. Play inside leverage and take away the flats. Make him throw outs and fades.
