So Just how soon do we expect to start hearing some moves? Before the upcoming recruiting rounds or wait til AD in Feb?

Seems Consensus is -

DB Coach? Only name I've read has been Fair? Or Should Shoop get to pick?
Co-OC? Helfrich? DeBord O-Line?
Longshot D-Line? Hoke?

S&C Coach is a must, and now LA Coach seems to be "more affordably available".

MUST wait until after signing day. No need to recruit for needs or positions when it's easier to just go after "stars" and watch 'em transfer.

I guess I disagree because a Helfrich or Hoke or someone could spark some recruiting battles and lock in some questionable's like Gray with a New DB Coach to play to Shoop Strengths. I'd want to go into these next few weeks with as many bullets in my gun as possible not just whispers of hey give us time you'll see some changes, that could worry some kids. I was hoping moreso it wouldn't take til AD, or hoped AD could move faster. Just wishful thinking some of the coaching combinations to send into some kids homes with sweeping changes.

There is never a "ideal" time for doing it. Best way is for guys to retire or get a offer at another school. Not always gonna happen that way.

If it is going to happen, ASAP. And announce when it is finalized. Still time to negate any negative result on the signing class, as well as reap any benefit the new guys have on the final push.

I'd be more concerned about what happens after two years if this did happen..

Helfrich
Hoke
Scott
Butch

All can get a shot or another at a HC position. This would be disastrous for Tennessee

Could be waiting till after signing day. I think new AD has to be in place for changes to be made.

No. Contrary to fantasy everyone answers to the HC, not the coordinators. Sure, they should have input, but don't be confused with where the buck stops.

And if it is known changes are coming, waiting till after signing day is really dumb. That is the best way to lose your highest rated commits, and what if the change causes a key transfer? Signing day is over. That scholarship goes to a deserving walk on, which is fine, but it hurts your depth. Forget waiting.

Also, Any known names of DB Coaches with big past success and Shoop connection? That seems to be my biggest question, if Martinez goes (I think he should), who replaces him? I am not convinced it should be Fair...

Half of the coaching staff needs to be fired.

Great idea. Let's do that, and trash the 11th ranked class.

I guess if you had influence at Green Bay, McCarthy would be looking for a job, and the Pack would be outta the playoffs.

The Athletic Director does not answer to the HC.

I'm sorry but there is a number of big names left on the board uncommitted, and there are typically significant changes immediately around signing day every year. I honestly believe we are going to drop farther.
Waiting to announce coaching changes seems foolish to me, there is more upside to announcing now and trying to snag a few "stars" that we were missing on due to new hype/excitement. We aren't exactly "shocking the world" with our recruiting this year. Take the gamble and try to stimulate some new excitement.

It all depends on things we don't know.
Considering that we have a new Chancellor coming in:

1) does CBJ have the authority to fire/hire? Can he fire/hire if he stays under the existing budget?

2) does the lame duck AD have the authority?

My opinion is that the Lady from Cincinnati has made it known that she wants to be very involved in hiring for the Athletic Department since that is where most sexual abuse problems arise and become very visible. And I am not talking about UT, but colleges in general.

Personally, I think Butch has done a very good job in the character department.

Certainly waiting until signing day, like they did when they hired debord a couple of years ago.

Oh really? Right now, for all intents and purposes, we don't have one, Einstein. Hart isn't making any major decisions he isn't going to be around to answer for. He is just minding the store. Next time you come up with a response, be aware of current events.

Wasn't Debord in the building though and meeting with recruits as he was "visiting and helping his friend Butch Jones" Could Helfrich do the same? I've heard of shadier country club negotiations come together in college football SEC coaching moves ha.

You make a lot of good points but they get minimized when all you do is insult people in a defensive manner.
