Lane (HC) - 2M

Monte (DC/DB) - 1.2M
Orgeron (AHC/RC/DL) - 650K
LB - 400K?

Chaney (OC) - 650K ?
Cregg (OL) - 400K?
Garner? (TE) - 400K?
Drayton or Gran? (RB) - 350K?
Gonzo or Trooper? (WR) - 350K?
Reaves (QB) - 300K?

Smith (S&C) - 300K

7M ???????

If so, that isn't bad at all. Stoops makes about 6M himself. Lane is distributing the $ to the staff to have a high end staff. He has said, he wants a lot of his bonus money to go to his assistants. If, he turns out to be a great HC. We found a gem who isn't selfish!!!

I think it is time the assistants get paid more and the HCs get less. It was ridiculous Fulmer was making almost 8-10 times his assistants pay. Considering Chavis and Cutclifee were far better coaches!!!!!!!

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE TOTAL ALLOWED ASSISTANT COACHES? I believe it is 9, not including S & C, nor grad assistants, trainers, medical personnel, and equipment personnel. Am I correct?

I think your numbers are a little inflated on some of those coaches. But its going to be somewhere around 6 million or a little more i'd say.

Let's just remember that it is the athletic department (supposedly self-funded) paying this, not the academic side of the university. So who cares, as long as they can afford it?

Havent seen the exact numbers. whatever it takes to assemble a great staff. I dont think money will be much of an issue.

Stoops isn't making $6,000,000.... Stoops makes $3,500,000 and just got a $3,000,000 bonus for being at OU 10 years.

Both Cregg and Reaves are making 150k. Smith is making 190k. Monte's making 1.2-1.4M. Not sure on Chaney, though I'd say it won't be more than 500k. Drayton/Gran will make about what he is making this year, prolly 200-250k.

Monte won't be coaching the DBs. We've already had 3 interviews, but all of them decided to stay in the NFL.

The staff is Lane and 9 assistants, but the SC coach and Director of Personnel are also included in the staff salary pool.

Like I said a few days ago, it's Jim Haslam's money. If the coaches don't produce, they'll have to explain it to Haslam.

If this staff puts us back in the National Championship hunt on a yearly basis, the revenue from BCS Bowl Games and TV revenues will more than pay for this staff.

I read in another thread where someone suggested that one of the big offensive linemen might enhance his NFL draft status by also playing some defense. This thought provoked a potential problem...What if Coach O was for such a move, but Monte Kiffin wasn't (or imagine your own scenario where they might have strong but different opinions). Who would win,? and why?
Would Monte's (DC) opinion over-rule Coach O's (DL)? or would Coach O's status as (AHC) outrank the DC's?

prolly Monte because experience and he would ground lane if he didnt listen to him.

Think about. All the coaches we have been hiring and such, kind of like an open tab/ blank check isn't it.

this again? Lane kiffin and all the staff members will be making the same as Fulmet was making by himself. They boke it down the other day. All together all staff personal will make around 6 million.

Money in the coach reserve + boosters + $15 mil from our friends at ESPN this season.

Plus Haslem is paying 1.40 for Diesel fuel right now and sells it for 2.40. He is pumping out over a million gallons of diesel per day. Million per day in diesel sales isnt too shabby.

Correction Million per day in profits on diesel fuel alone isnt too shabby.
