How much will Hart allow for assistants?

One name flying around is Barry Wortman, from Nashville. He's currently the boys basketball coach at Blackman High School, the same school current Vol Darius Thompson is from.

He was an assistant coach at Morehead State under Tyndall and the two reportedly had a good relationship. Wortman drove from Nashville today to be at the press conference, so it could be a possibility.

Have to imagine he would fit into the price point Hart has set, and his ties to the Nashville area would be very beneficial.

I heard he may be a candidate. Hiring a HS coach is very different if they have college coaching experience as well.

When an assistants yearly salary is around 150-200 grand, I'd say 5 grand for landing a top recruit would be plenty.

Also as seen with Thigpen and football this year, quality recruiting will get you a bump in pay.
