I think so, if for nothing else an extra big to use and the experience he would bring. Just look at what an experienced group at Vanderbilt is doing this year,

he would have helped, how much, eh? i dunno.

i think we are missing a good pg more than anything. CJ on this team would have been huge.

but from a defensive perspective, i do agree about wingate...

but, cj watson would be a huge beneift to this team

This may be too big a comparison, but I think what we are going through is very similar to what Kansas and UNC went through last year.

Having Major would make a HUGE (dare I say it - "major"?) difference, no question about it. With another offseason under his belt, he'd probably contribute just as much offensively as Crews and Chism are, now. Plus, the team gets SO much deeper... We could start Major, Ramar, Crews, Bradshaw and Lofton, and then sub all 5 out simultaneously and bring in Chism, Childress, Tabb, Howell and JaJuan. Or go "small" with Bradshaw at the 4, and rotate Major in and out with Crews or Chism (whoever has the hotter hand at the time.) Or go "big" with Crews, Chism, Major, Lofton and Ramar. All kinds of options, depending on the opponent and the situation.

Pearl said it himself after the Ole Miss game, as I alluded to earlier in this thread: He wasn't the best scorer we all know that, but he was a very good defender. We don't have a good shot blocker to let Chism/Crews roam out and challenge shooters, and to prevent players from driving in.

He was also a solid rebounder, and as Bruce said, he guaranteed us 10 ppg. He is also 5 more fouls for our big men to give, which would cut down on the minutes of the younger guys, and that would affect not only the inside guys, but our guards as well.

Just because he was not a star last year does not mean he wouldn't have made a difference.

character is built through adversity. The guys will be better for having to struggle through this season.
