I voted six because if remember correctly his contract is for six years, but i think we won't have to weight nearly that long. I think we get one by year 3. No matter what happens on Wednesday, I believe next years class will be top 5, and after that things will get even better. I think this year just the fact that we got some of these kids to visit was a big accomplishment. I believe we may be all be pleasantly surprised come Wednesday night.:good!:

It will take three years just to restock the talent particularly on the O and D lines and get that new talent beyond Fr year. That means 2011 is the earliest realistic year for us to compete for a championship.
2009: recovery from the wreck that was the final Fulmer years
2010: restock with great recruiting class and lots of OL and DT. There will be a lot of Freshman playing in key positions...tough year
2011: All that 2009 and 2010 talent now So and Jr and ready to compete
2012+: Get the butter 'cause this program is on a roll!!!
Urban set the bar. Saban got his team into the sec championship game in two years. These are the standards that have been set, fair or not. In 3 years time if this team isn't at least holding their own against the big boys of the sec, then its time for him to ride out of town. Seldom are coaches given 4 or 5 years anymore to build a team. This isn't a ground up project. There is enough talent although thin at spots to compete now. Mostly i want to see a team that doesn't kill itself, cut out the sloppiness we've seen for several years. Its great to have all these supposed great recruiters, but at some point these guys have to prove they can coach, monte kiffin excluded from that thought. That man has nothing to prove, but his son does.

Alabama had a qb and a good offensive line. They were in better shape from those perspective's. They were thin everywhere else, much like we are now. Bama benefitted from a weak west last year also, a luxury kiffin won't have in the east. I'm not expecting miracles, but i do expect that we at least compete and not lose to teams like wyoming. The jury is still out on kiffin. I've heard him talk for two months, now i want him to show me something. Both Alabama and UF's programs were in much better shape when Saban and Urban started. They also benefit from great in-state talent. CLK will not match their benchmarks, nor should we expect that. However, in three years, we'll compete with UF (Urban will be at ND) and in 4 or 5 (the UT/Bama rivalry will be the top game in the country for NC consideration).
LSU is already dead the water as Miles is the sequel to Larry Coker. CMR is the new CPF. UGA will not be in the mix as we'll be dominating them, again.
