Are hoping Tim Tebow as a full time QB is a complete bust?

I was just looking at a website were they were taking those old Chick Norris quotes (i.e. "Chuck Norris once had sex with an 18 wheeler..the outcome was Optimus Prime") and switching Chucks name with Tim Tebow and it made me want to hurl. I remember seeing that stuff on here about Darren McFadden...posted by an Arky fan....and thinking it was amusing. But McFadden actually did some pretty awesome stuff on the football field and therefore you could somewhat justify saying those cheesy quotes about him.

All Tebow has done is run up the middle and occasionally throw a few passes. Don't get me wrong.....I'm not hoping for his demise as a football player cause I have something against him..from what I hear he sounds like a good person. But I would love to see him flop just so every UF fan who has annointed him the greatest football player ever would have to either eat crow or make up some ridiculous excuse for why he flopped

Seeing as how he plays for our biggest competition in the East, I hope he is a complete bust.

Speaking solely in term of his continued success against UTK, it will depend entirely upon whether the Vols can get a better matchup than Fulmer vs. Meyer.

I brought it up because I don't think I've ever wanted to see the demise of a football player worse than with this guy.

I think my desire to see his failure has surpassed what I felt about Chris Leak

Chris Leak threw the Tennessee program under the bus on a national recruiting diary published by ESPN, all because he wasn't grown up enough to understand: (1) that his brother was an average quarterback at best; and (2) that the University of Tennessee is not so pathetic that it would sacrifice the integrity of its football program to placate some high school kid. He was such a mollycoddled little snot, and he was arrogant to boot. Even when he got to Florida, Leak was such a sissy. It was fun to watch Tennessee defenses pummel that guy, because I disliked him so much.

With respect to Tebow? I hope he plays great football and has a wonderful college career. If he does, Tennessee's victories over Florida (if the Vols are tough and disciplined enough to earn them) will feel significant. :)

wasn't Leak 2-1 vs UTK? Won a BCSNC? and learned three different offensive schemes in as many years? Yeah, he's a real klunker I guess. Thank the Good Lord that Phil saved us from Leak with Rick Clausen! Halleluja!!

technically yes, but he did play as a freshman, and they did lose that game...it was Ingle Martin that started, and Leak finished.

and to be perfectly honest, i wasn't disappointed with CL going elsewhere. I actually thought better of CPF since he did not cater to the kid or the pubilc attention it was receiving via his blog on ESPN.

I agree with what you say about Leak, but he just won a NC so he's laughing all the way to the trophy case. As for Tebow, I lived in jacksonville during his highschool career and barring injury, he's going to be a superstar. Trust me when I say he's the real deal, the second coming of Heath Shuler (but with brains).

I hope we pound him into the dirt. However, if he's not playing against us then I don't really care. It would be nice to see him struggle for a while just to shut up all the Gator fans and make them squirm a little.

Excellent post! :good!:

I hope Tebow is good, but he cannot engender the kind of malevolent feelings as Crissy Leak could. He is not nearly as big a wuss, crybaby, or loudmouth.

I hope he's awesome, against Western KY, and Troy. Then on Sept 15th, our D goes into the swamp and shuts him down..

I think many of the posters here bear an amazing resemblance to ostriches. esp in regard to other teams talent and CPF's coaching ability.
