Ding ding ding we have a winner. I don't give a darn what we are ranked by people who only give high rankings to kids that attend their combines. I want coaches that can evaluate talent and see who fits their system and know they can compete at this level. Then you have people that are gonna say look at Alabama they are ranked # 1 in recruiting rankings for the last zillion years and look at them. Well they know how to evaluate too. Look at the QB Barnett that left them. He was a five star and who did they take that beat him out Hurts a 4 star.

I mean we have some guys who have and are playing well this year and before, I agree play calling and players being prepared is a major problem. I've been pretty happy with defensive adjustments this far I think Whoop has done a decent job in that side of the ball.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but only Malone was a 5star coming out of HS,, possibly Kamara but I believe he was a 4

He recruited good players and then made them worse. It's really quite simple.

LOL, Dobbs and Hurd....really? While Byrd has the talent how exactly has he performed greatly so far? Noone knows his name outside Tennessee fans.....and maybe Miami fans.

A high school 5 star still has to be coached up. We don't have any offensive coaches that can make them better, plus we don't have anything but low 4 stars and 3 stars coming next year

Just remember that Chris Petersen took a Boise State roster littered with 2* recruits into the Georgia Dome in 2011 and throttled a good Georgia team that won the East that year.

It should be noted also that a lot of those 2* and 3* players made NFL rosters and many are still active.

So, basically...either they were much, much better than their star evaluations indicate, or they were prepared by a much better coaching staff.
