Was just lurking over at the Strange Land called Recruiting Forum and looks like alot of recruits will be visiting this weekend!

Does anyone have a list or a number that will be there? Hope it is a huge turnout to impress those recruits!!

I actually think attendance will be down this year, ironically.

Last year's spring game was boring. Watching an open practice and skills competition isn't the same as a game. Would love to see how Dobbs and the WRs fare in a game simulation with pressure

With the injuries and format, I'm guessing attendance will not be terribly impressive

Not to be a downer, but I tend to agree. In addition to the 16 players who are out, there just aren't many new faces on the roster this spring.

Yeah there doesn't seem to be as much general hype around the spring game this year compared to years past either

I completely agree. It seems like people just haven't been that excited about spring practice in general.

I can't remember a March/April when the fans seemed more apathetic, which is kinda weird considering the hype around team 120.

I, too, would be surprised if attendance is greater than in recent years which is almost counterintuitive. Previously, the fan base has bought into the need to do their part for recruiting by participating in large crowds which can be used as a recruiting tool. Despite the fact that the team is hopefully on the threshold of an amazing year, fans don't seem to be quite as ready to begin the season hype. I'll go out on a limb and guess that the "preseason" game practice in August will draw almost as many or more than the Spring game. But if there are a lot of people who want to come and enjoy a beautiful Spring day in Knoxville, we might be surprised.

I just read an article about that yesterday; it was saying there just aren't that many ? with this team. You know who the QB will be; you what you have at RB etc.

Honestly I think it's just a perfect storm. The excitement last spring turned into a season of missed opportunities, accusations Butch assaulted a player, a weak recruiting class, and an off season of sexual assault lawsuits and smear campaigns. Fans are more cautious this year. Everyone knows if an SEC coach doesn't make the championship by year 3 it doesn't happen. Last year was our year and we blew it. This is the result

If you don't make a championship by year 3 you won't? That's so false lol

LOL so funny. Not sure which part is the most absurd? Weak class I think is the winner though. Brilliance sir, pure brilliance.
