With it all but straight out of the Orange Horse's mouth and a pending DC position confirmation, how long do you guys think Monte coaches here? I'm thinking he'll be here for the first 3-4 years of Lane's tenure. That means we've got 3 years of some very dominate defensive players coming here. I hope we have enough talent already here to smack Tebow in the mouth once or twice next year.

3 or 4 max, maybe until he knows it will be alright without him. Jumpstart juniors career, then ride off into the sunset hopefully holding a sec championship ring or two. If the stars lined up right a national title. Never hurts to dream.

I think he will be here until either Lane leaves or he dies. The guy lives and breathes football. Not to many 68 year old guys that still put in 16 hours days. He does this because he loves it.

Untill Lane is given an extension or is fired.

My thoughts exactly.

This is a very critical job for Lane.... Success here leads to an extension, security and endless opportunities. Failure could place him on the "Bill Callahan Career Path" of endless relocations and little respect.

Callahan may relocate to Ktown next.

does that mean a lot of extraneous lip movement, entirely out of sync with the comments?

That and exceedingly loud smacks and pows heard with each punch and kick.

All happening while the hero wipes out about a tenth of the Chinese population.

I would think that he'll be here for at least 5 years (if he stays in good health).

I hope he's here long enough to "tutor" someone and really develop his replacement.

That would be ideal in my book. That way when Monte wants to retire for good, there's someone already waiting in the wings.

I think Callahan would be a good pick up, seems to be good as a OC.
His struggles as a HC are documented, but believe he would be the type we need.
With dad over the D, Lane may need to be the OC to feel like he is doin' something.
