That our QB has no accuracy and cannot throw a ball with any touch on it? Our WR's were open many times today on routes that would have led to TD's and the ball was either way over their heads or was way too late. It is hard to scheme a game when you're QB is this bad. The final catch was also high again and was only caught because the WR made a great grab.

They also dropped about 5 in a row and the defense essentially looked lost. Across the board sucking has to be laid at the feet of the big guy.

What about the one that hit dmo in the hands for a TD? Or the one that hit rodgers for a 1st down? Or the one that hit hunter for a 1st? Or the stop route dmo dropped? I'm no fan of simms but he didn't play bad today. Its not dooleys fault but it aint simms either. And the last play was not over thrown. It was a good throw and dmo went and got it like he should. It was his or no ones which is where you want that ball thrown.

More CDD's fault than mine

High throws or not, it is my opinion that if the receiver gets 2 hands on the ball, it should be caught. Also, not sold on Chaney's play-calling. Realistically, most sane Vol fans figured we'd be 2-2 after September, and that's where we are. GOT to get better in alot of areas. Improvement on 3rd and 6+ and tackling would make a huge difference.

The DMO pass was late and allowed the defender to catch up. If it had of been on time it would have been a TD. What about all the over the head, lets aim for the fans passes, that our WR were wide open running down the sidelines?

What really ticks me off about sims is that his hand lotion must make the ball so slick that when it gets to the WR, they can't catch it.

I agree that sims should have thrown the OT td a little lower so it could have been batted or picked. Perhaps that would have pleased you more than a Vol win.

when you have a rookie qb and talented rb's, most coaches tend to try to run the ball....see the first series, then compare to the rest of the game. Also, see Tauren Poole beast run v Florida then the 3 passes and a punt that followed.

To anyone that says we have a rookie o line, it was UAB. Our worst player on the O line should beat the guy across from them.

That last touchdown throw was about as perfect as a pass can get.

What would make me happy is if the guy would put down the doobie until the end of the season and get some depth perception back.

The fact that it hit dmo in the hands makes it dmo's fault. No matter whn its thrown if the reciever can touch he should catch it.simms got it there late or not. Like I said I'm not a simms fan, and by no means is he great but he doesn't get much help. The recievers know he isn't that good so when he does get it there they should catch.

Simms actually didn't hurt us today. He helped. The WR's dropped easy catches and some difficult ones. Thankfully their kicker was psyched out most of the game.

It's Dooley's fault that he knew we weren't good enough to overlook them and they still came out flat in both halves.

agree - DMO was too stiff, it hit him in the shoulder pads. Had he just rotated his body he would have made the catch. Still, zero play action and no threat of a run.

I thought the play calling was better today. We threw it to the middle of the field some and throw it deep some.we absolutely no running game and a really poor offensive line I don't know what more we can ask for.

Simms strikes me as a bit of a pre-madonna. However, the guy shows signs of light at times. He makes some bonehead plays, but then again, he can make some good throws. He stares receivers down way too much. QB like him that has been around the game for this long and has 2 years under his belt should do a little better.

Can't just blame Simms though. The play was bad all around the field. Notably, the play was terrible at CB. The defense as a whole had a horrible tackling day. Trying to tackle with arms instead of the body. That can drive a coach nuts. Surprised UF couldn't execute the screen plays as well as UAB did or we would have been blown out. UAB made our defense just look sloppy at times. The DL did well most of the time and got to the QB a lot, sent him home with a lot of bruises. We suck playing against a mobile QB, however. Savion Frazier played well, which was good to see at the OLB spot.

In Simms defense, the play-calling was bad. We were going away from the run game and passing on 1st downs, I mean, come on. Our 3rd down play-calling was crappy as well. Screens, short slants, just annoying.

Where I fault the coaches is that they went away from the run and Neal when it looked like it was working. I feel that was a bad decision because it was working way better than going through the air. My friend, a Bama fan. said he believed it was being done to get Simms reps in a game that CDD expected them to win. I don't actually agree and believe we should have ran way more during this game. But Simms still is Crompton 2.0 in my opinion.

The o-line play assured there was nothing that was going to work consistently. Simms didn't even have time to throw the ball away on several occasions and there were also times when the defense was in the backfield for the exchange on running plays.

There is no good call for 3rd and 10 or more which we saw some today. When we made a good call we dropped the ball. Screens aren't bad calls on 3rd down. Just ask UAB. I totally agree with the defense. We played horrible and the tackling we have displayed this year as a whole is pathetic.

3rd and 10 = 2 incomplete passes or a 7 yard run and a sack

lol. DMO drops the pass before the defender even touches him. DMO just had stone hands on tat play and tried to catch it against his body rather than with his hands.
