but will the carries add up and leave him beaten and injured half way through the season next year?

he does have a chance to be great. he is only a freshman.

Arian Foster is the man.

Since TVTT said most of us here don't know anything, I guess he sucks and should be benched. Or transfer to a school like Miami where the fans know more.

He's definitely upstaged Riggs this year. He's the best freshman RB since chuck webb.

Imagine if we had a legimate passing threat how good he would be. Heisman down the road??

At least this thread is not talking about Ainge!!

Foster has three 100+ yard games in a row and I don't see that changing against Vandy and UK. He's going to be a good one for sure. Now if we can just get another RB who compliments him and gives him some rest.

or maybe just a passing offense that will keep them from stacking the line on him.

I think he only needs to average about 155 yards for the last 3 games to have a 1000 yard season.

he already has more big plays this year than Riggs did.

He seems to have a competitive drive unlike the rest of UT's offense. The guy never stops churning those legs. Winning seems very important to him.

yeah well too bad he doesnt got a offense to help him out. lets just hope this is a glimpse of things to come for next year. i feel we can be very good on both sides of the ball and that secondary is going to be unstoppable with everyone having ANOTHER year under them. god he is one of the best backs i have ever seen at tennessee. lets just hope he can keep it going. but here is the question, why didnt he start getting carries earlier in the year? if he would have split time with riggs..........

he was getting a few carries while riggs was healthy. he just wasnt completely used to playing in the game yet. then he got thrown into it.

Foster is a Redshirt Freshman.

Hardesty will be back next year and most think he's as good or better than Foster but that reamains to be seen. If Hardesty can get 10 - 12 carries a game next year the running game and Foster will be fine.

Don't forget Coker, if he can learn to hold onto the ball he could be another 10-12 carry a game guy

The biggest drawback with Foster is his speed. To me he looks like a taller version of Travis Henry. He has a knack for falling forward. With a back like him UT could get back to their old smash mouth ways real soon.

It was my understanding that Foster woould have played more early but he has had fumbling problems in practice.

He can be a great one if he holds onto the ball and stays healthy.

He's faster than he looks but I agree he's no barn burner. Speed is overrated in RBs, vision, agility, toughness, quickness are more often used.

Where speed becomes the issue is in the break away sit (see Cedric Houston) and this is where he might be lacking. :dunno:
