Perception by outsiders is that we are behind in talent and scheme. Any Thoughts?

I think we're closer to Bama than most people give us credit for, but Florida is miles ahead of us. Speed kills.

Will the current/new staff be able to take what we have and develop it similar to what Saban and Meyer have done? Or are we 2 years behind in talent?

We have one year of quality talent...the Junior/RS soph class...and hopefully a stellar Freshman class....

Until last year, Bama was a joke for a decade.... UF lost 4 or 5 just LAST YEAR..... To suggest they are light years ahead of UT is just plain foolish.

The perceived gap is due to our lack of a QB... Heck, we win 8/9 games this year with E Ainge! Very few sacks, ball control, third down conversions, play action, etc... Our problem was D last year yet the 08 D was outstanding.

Therefore, a quality QB with current D and we are in the mix in every game!

We are a quarterback away if we get Monte Kiffin, decent offensive line play and Lane's offense succeeds at UT. I think it will take a couple of years to adjust though. Until then we can enjoy 8-10 win seasons with some actual hope for the future.

Everything changes, each season has it's own challenges. If Tebow stays his senior year, we are still WAY behind. If he comes out, the gap closes significantly.

Tebow,Stafford and JPW (just because he did not lose the games for them)

Look out for Ole Miss QB next year.

Im with U on that, but our O line and D line are behind right now. Hope that changes.

Same exact O line as 2007 that gave up less than 5 sacks, rushed near the top of the league and averaged 32+ points per game.

Insert poor QB and new blocking SCHEME (zone) and now you have the 116th offense in the nation...

We're now ahead of them by jettisoning the used payload. They just don't know it yet. :superman:

Agree with most of that, but I think Cut covered up an average O line with 5 yd. passes. We gotta get a runnin' game back. By AF
