How elite can our recruiting be with Jeremy Pruitt, Tee Martin, and Robert Gillespie?

Pruitt brings nothing to the table in recruiting. He has been at schools who always have top 5 classes every year, no matter who is coaching. Nothing to indicate that he is a good recruiter.

Except being national recruiter of the year and being well respected in the industry...especially by one of the greatest coaches of all time who hired him. Other than a lack of HC experience, he his credentials are on par with every other candidate.

Lets make a bet right now that Alabama will still have the #1 class next year without Pruitt... How much you wanna bet?

A good example is the roster at Mich State. D'antonio recruits mostly 3* types, redshirts them, coaches and conditions them. Of course 5* recruits SHOULD have a higher ceiling but the NFL is full of 2 and 3* types.

And Dantonio got beat 51-0 when his guys went up against Sabans.

I didn't like the idea of Jeremy Pruitt at first because I just don't like him as a person. But with rumors of him looking to assemble a staff with Tee and Robert Gillespie, I've reconsidered.

That trio would give us the best recruiting coaching staff in the country. For some reason players love Pruitt. Apparently Florida State players were campaigning for him to become the head coach of FSU after Jimbo left. Similarly, UGA players a few years ago wanted him to be named the head coach after Richt was fired. For whatever reason he has some voodoo over recruits and they love him.

Add to that Tee Martin and Robert Gillespie, and I think we getting top 5 recruiting classes every year. And when you consider the fact that instate talent in Tennessee is exploding, it would make the job of pulling in elite classes even easier.

Jeremy Pruitt might not be the name we all wanted but in the SEC recruiting is the name of the game. And its possible we could have the best recruiting staff in the country with this hire.

Talent is not the issue.

There's some poster around here that believes there are 54 1st round NFL draft picks currently on the Tennessee roster.

54 may be off by the way. It could be around 63

If there's anyone who is reputable enough to hold funds in escrow for this I'm good taking free money. How much are ya comfortable with? Bet stands even if we don't sign Pruitt though.

Of course they will. Pruitt did not give them the #1 class, the Saban machine gives them the #1 class. That doesn't mean Pruitt isn't a great recruiter though.
