How does 2008 end, and 2009 begin?

This year will end with a 4-8 record and next year will begin 2-0 then we get to SEC play and see what the new coach has for the rest of the league.

Yep. This is starting to look like a 3-9 year. UT closes out the "Fulmer era" with a 5 game losing streak. Can't get much worse than that. Most losses in a single season in UT history.

This team is officially in the tank. So is the coaching staff. This game sealed the fate of Chavis and Clawson.

IMO, makes it easier for next year's coach to take the job. Nowhere to go but up.

Go Vols.

I want this year to be over with, Every game since UCLA has been very painful to watch.

We end '08 disgraced and embarrassed. '09 will be a work in progress but with a steady climb up. I am not counting on an SEC title but what we sill see a bunch of young men wearing orange playing hard and bustin' heads. We will be singing Rocky Top plenty.

3-9 this year. If we get Gruden or Davis or Leach I look for an immediate improvement, maybe 9 wins including the bowl, which I do not believe is unrealistic at all.

4-8 this year, 8-4 next year. i hope this loss shuts the "why did you fire fulmer" crowd up. today was unreal. glad this is finally over and the ship will be heading in a new direction next year.

2009 begins with an easy two wins versues WKU and UCLA!!!! And then in Gruden's much anticipated return to the state of Florida, he makes his mark at UT by crushing the Gators 38-13 in the Swamp!!! And Rocky Top will be playing deep, deep into the night!!!

Next year is a rebuilding year for the OL, which means the running game probably will not improve significantly even if a couple of young tailbacks do step it up. It also means that 2009 will probably not be a good year to break in a new pocket passer at QB. For me, 2009 will be more about looking for reasons to get excited about UTK football again than it will be about the W/L columns.
