Many of you were saying how great Teague was last year. Many of you were saying he would be the best corner this year. It must have been because he is from Paris. I didn't see what I lot of you saw in Teague last year.
I told you guys Teague isn't a good defender. He was one of the worst last year, probably the worst this year. He gets toasted weekly!!! Will many of you admit you were wrong about Teague?

Here is a link to last years thread:

Last year was Teague's first year playing DB. It was reasonable to expect improvement.

There wasn't any. There's a reason that he was benched in favor of Waggner moving to corner and Randolph/Wilks coming in at safety is telling.

He's not nearly as bad a CB as everyone says...
He made a couple of really bad plays Saturday, but I still feel like we could do a lot worse.

I honestly think they should have moved him to WR instead of AA. He is playing terribly.

Teague is struggling. I really think it would be better to put Randolph at FS and replace Teague with Waggner. I know that was our primary lineup in the 2nd half. On the other hand, Lanier has impressed me.

As said earlier I don't believe people expected him to be a lockdown corner but after a year of game time experience he should at least be playing a little better than he currently is. I mean in the Georgia game they burnt him deep a few times and they were momentum killers and ultimately could have costs us the game since they scored on both of those. Also, LSU went to him on almost every 3rd down and he missed a few tackles as well. I just hope he gets his stuff together.

They say that Waggner moved to CB 2nd half and Teague went out. Was it 14-7 at half? and 28-0 in the second half? I mean the score doesn't lie.

It's not as if LSU threw for a lot of yards in the 2nd half.

agree and my goodness! They only had 123 yrds passing. We had 128!!! They managed the game and ran most of the game. Why do you think they had played Jefferson most of the 2nd half?

Are you ****ting me?

Lanier was completely awful last game. As bad as Teague was, he was still better than Lanier.

He switched to the other side of the ball because the coaches asked him to and you guys are *****ing about his ability. You don't think he's doing the best he can? You don't think he's done everything the coaches have asked him to do to the best of his ability? You think he freaking wanted to come to the University of Tennessee and suck as football player? Grow the hell UP people!

What I wouldn't give to see some of you on the field with these players. On the field, pads on, to play the game. Some of you guys are beyond pathetic individuals.

Didn't he get burned against Georgia too? Just askin...not trying to stir the pot

Yes but that s just a pure speed difference. I assumed that after the second or third overthrown ball that Wilcox would shade a safety for over-the-top help but he didn't. UGA WR was just faster than Teague.

IMO, Lanier is our best corner. Not to say that he hasn't struggled some. None of our corners are very good. I just think he is the best we've got and I didn't really expect much out of him before the season. He's not that good, but he's the best we've got.

He played pretty well last year, all things considered. He's not shown much improvement in the past year, and he routinely gets torched by better teams.

Personally, I don't see why you wouldn't move him back to receiver, considering the lack of quality backups at that spot.

I think Teague problem is more technique than ability he has good position on a lot of plays, but lacks the skills to break up the pass. he totally sucks at tackling. I don't really think we would be having this discussion if we had more help from the safety over the top.
