I have a 50 inch Emerson HDTV and have no clue how to set this stuff up, any help.
The only thing that came with the surround sound is a yellow video cord

My tv supplier is Charter so I have a charter box

I hooked mine up with all hdmi. Hdmi from the cable\sat box to the surround sound box. Then hdmi from the surround sound box to the tv. Not the same system but it was a Sony as well.

If all else fails just Google the owners Manuel for your model.

Maybe snap a couple of photos of what inputs you have on your systems? Like one of the above posters mentioned, straight HDMI would probably be the easiest.

this..

HDMI from Cable Box to reciver
HDMI to from receiver to TV
Then hook the speakers up to receiver

then any game systems or DVD, would be additional HDMI, into the reciever

Yup..

The only input button you'll ever need to use is the input from the surround sound receiver. Got my dish and ps3 hooked up this way.

Your not going to use any of those RGB ports, unless your hooking up a Wii..
Just use the HDMI cables

there are 3 HDMI ports on the TV, and then one on the surround sound box and one on the charter box
