I'm interested to know how people here became Vols fans. For me personally i came to the homecoming game in 97 when we played a ranked Wash St team. I hated UGA growing up in Atl. I met a beautiful coed with a pure white bulldog on the way to the game. This bulldog had a cape that said "UGA is white trash" and that makde up mind I was UT bound next near. How bout you guys?

Raised in it. My dad, my mom, all 4 of my uncles all three of my aunts, both of my grandfathers, and my sister all attended UTK so everyones blood runs orange

I'm from North of Knoxville in a little town called Oneida. My family watched the games and it only took one game for me to be a Vol. I have been a ORANGE BLOODED VOL since

I can remember watching the Tennessee/UCLA game in 94 when Jerry Colquitt was the starting qb and he got injured early. Then for the rest of the year it was a Manning/Stewart duel to see who the qb would be. That was when I became a UT fan in 1994.

I love to see the born into folks. I had my first niece born this year and I've already gotten her, her first UT cheerleading uniform for the Vols. She lives in Austin, Tx, and for some reason they by mistake they are the real UT. But I must admit they are by far my number 2 team in CFB. Her crib mobile plays rockty top and she has now been born into it. Thanks for sharing guys!

I became a fan in 04 when James Wilhoit kicked the game-winning field goal against Florida.
From then on I have been a die hard Vols Fan.:D

If I remember that correctly Helton was part of the mix that game too but was hurt. This was when I first started looking at UT but the hottie with bulldog sealed the deal for me! Now its season tickets and international business trips planned around games.

Born into it. killed my first bear with my bare hands when I was three. Had a coonskin cap and a vols tshirt in one of my first pictures walkin. Won a Heath Shuler signed jersey in grade school for selling chocolate. Only sold the candy cause i wanted that jersey so bad. Shuler was a ba when i was younger. My whole family bleeds orange, if any of them didnt we probably kick'em out. Never knew a good enough reason not to love the vols. they represent everything awesome about our state. If i had to choose to watch one vol game or all other football for the rest of my life, i guess I'd be living without football after singing rocky top all night long. GO VOLS!!!

That is cool, I have a son who is 6 now. Ever since he could walk and talk, I had him saying "Touch Down Tennessee" and high fives. It was kinda funny everytime I would yell, which is every play, he would come running from his room to give high fives to everyone in the room.

Actually she ended up in my fresh philosophy class, but was taken! Dammit, but was definately fun to hang with once we realized we'd met before.

Dad was a Tennessee fan, as are alot of people around here. It's sort of a given unless you have a reason to cheer for another team. First time in Neyland and it was the only blood test I needed, it was indeed orange.

I applied to go to school here back in the 70s. My dad and I came up to visit the campus. That weekend alone, we saw the orange-white football, a double header baseball game was going on, I spoke with, I can't even remember his name, at the aquatic center about a job-he said no problem and I liked the tennis courts across from the dorm. I was a PE major and it was a no brainer for me. Funny, that weekend, I decided I wanted to go to UT(my dad was thrilled) without even visiting my second choice of schools-Alabama:pardon:

Little did I know at the time.....

It was always understood that I was a Tennessee fan. Some of my earliest memories included my parents giving a touchdown sign and I would say with a grin,"TOUCHDOWN TENNESSEE!!!"

However I actually started to care about it the first game of the 2001 season. The first play I ever saw as a true fan was a Casey Clausen TD connection to Donte Stalworth on the first play of the season! What a way to start!!

I have been hooked ever since and will bleed orange for as long as the Good Lord allows me to live. Personally, I have never witnessed a championship of any kind, and really my hopes and expectations have been crushed ever since the 01 SECCG....but I still love them my VOLS!!!

I can not wait for Saturday when I wake up a 5 AM and make the drive from Nashville to witness the dawn of the Lane Kiffin era.

I was born in Tennessee, I grew up in Tennessee, and I live in Tennessee. What other choice did I have?

Born into being a Tennessee fan, dad raised me as one. The first game i ever remember seeing on t.v. of the Vols was Peytons last game & the first game i ever attended was the '99 Wyoming game. I try to make it to atleast 1 game every year.
