How awesome was Gerald Jones's effort on 3rd and 7 in 3rd overtime.

the G-Gun will definately get a couple of looks Saturday. if things get tight, i wouldnt mind seeing him or Berry fielding a punt of kickoff, although I dont know if either has practiced fielding punts.

Jones made a great play in one of the OT's, where he split two defenders to get a first down...Our freshman class looks very promising.

Because Rogan has really sucked it up back there?

Leave Rogan back there. On kickoffs, I wouldn't mind seeing Jones or O'Neal back instead of Creer, but there is absolutely no reason to take Rogan off of punt return duties.

Berry has practiced fielding kickoffs though I wouldn't risk him to injury by asking him to return kicks.

Isn't it amazing that for the last several years we were desparate for kick off and punt returners and now we have about 4 - 6 guys who could excell at those positions.

The future looks very bright indeed for special teams. Tennessee will notch more wins because of this in the next couple of years.

No need to hire a special teams coach now huh?!?!

Anyone wanna bet that if we do see the G-Gun it ends up being a pass to Brad Cottam for six? I don't think anyone outside of the team knows how large a part of the O he was gonna be this year until the wrist injury.

G Jones hasn't been getting the ball more because Ainge hasn't been throwing it to him. He's been in the games... It just seems to take time for EA to trust guys.

I'll agree with you except I'm going to say that Brown is the recipient of the pass.

It was truly a great effort. The reality is, by rule, that is what not a valid catch. Thank goodness the refs finally blew one in our favor!

I remember the announcers where saying, "who is this guy?" when he made the first down, then they were talking about it after that catch. Ainge in the locker room interview said he knew that if he got the ball even close to jones, he would catch it. Then the previous Fulmer quote I heard to about how he catches those all the time in practice. Why is he not on the field more?

He's on the field quite a bit. He plays a lot of special teams and if you look when he's in, he's the best blocking WR UT has. Just because he doesn't have a lot of catches doesn't mean he's not on the field.

why is he not starting?

Exactly my point! Fulmer made a comment the other day when he was asked about the catch by Jones. He said that he wasn't surprised because Gerald does it all of the time in practice. Why in the Hell is he not on every pass play and running the G-gun then? If he is this good in practice why on earth would you not have been getting him the ball all year? I know he was injured with a hammy earlier in the year but he has had plenty of opportunities in the 2nd half of the year to get the ball in this guys hands. This, my friends, is the reason we need a change on the hill.
