How awesome was Gerald Jones's effort on 3rd and 7 in 3rd overtime.

Did you guys see the move that Jones put on the two Kentucky defenders to get the first down on 3rd and 7 in the 3rd overtime? He made a 3 yard reception into an 8 yard gain. I kept saying to myself that he and maybe Taylor were the only ones that would have gotten the first down in that situation. His quickness allowed him to juke left then right and go between the defenders. I was very impressed with his abilities.

Browns catch if it were not overruled was also a great effort. These guys were not perfect and struggled at times but played with a lot of heart.

Gerald Jones is the man though. That was a helluva play he made on that 3rd down catch and run. Kept those feet goin!

Gerald had a great block on Hancock's 4OT TD too... he wouldn't have made the endzone without GJ.

The future of the WRs looks bright with Hancock and Jones.

heck of an effort, also see that 3OT TD by Austin Rogers, G. Jones had his downfield block on the around

Heck of an effort by the ground to push that ball back into his hands on that TD catch as well.

It's a d*** shame it took so long for him to get on the field...We could have used him in alot of other games...now we can't redshirt him and we only get about 4-5 good games out of him

Wow! That's a great pic. I didn't even see that angle on the replays. Looks like both hands on the ball and feet down to me. I take back my previous post.

the announcers were all over saying it hit the ground, but after about a billion replays of them showing a big clump of black, I just couldn't see the ball hitting the ground myself. As much as they were on UK's jock the entire game, I wouldn't take their word for it.

Either way, play was upheld, TD, Vols going to the SECCG!

I loved when they showed the replay of that catch on the Fulmer show and he goes " Gerald makes those plays all the time in Practice, he's going to be a good one " ...

 might have been nice to have him in game situations all year, Coach, haha

look at his right foot on the first photo! maybe its the angle, but it looks like its pointing backwards! he and berry are gonna be legends when their careers are over.

Yeah, Berry could be like a rock star in TN today if that guy doesn't tackle him by the face mask.

No joke... But berry and jones will be giving team's fits for awhile in my opinion. I loved rogers on that screen for the TD.
Earlier on that drive, we ran a fake screen then screen to the other side.. my cousin and i both hated that play and then on roger's TD we both go "THAT is how you run a screen!"

Gerald Jones has incredible atheletic ability.....he has the chance to be an elite player in the SEC. We need to find more ways to get the ball in his hands, but as stated by others in this thread he is pretty damn good without it also, ie downfield blocking, special teams etc.

Maybe put him back on kick returns? Rogan has been doing a job on punts, but on kicks have Rogan and jones or berry back deep.
Also, against Lafayette we ran the "wildvol" with jones at QB and it worked well, former Oklahoma Mr. Football as Quarterback?

Better get it right, it's the G-Gun yo!

Agreed though, I can't get enough of G Jones. I guess it helps that he hasn't made any mistakes yet, plus we have his promotional agent on the board here.
