What about bringing Cutcliffe back as head coach along with tee martin as oc and co head coach with the idea that he will take over in 3 to 4 years so cit can retire. Let's be honest cut can flat out coach and develop where he lacks is recruiting at high level...For defense well there's plenty of options but this is more about head coach.

Short of that I think guys like Pruitt deserve a **** before others who have not proven they can have a dominant print in sec footbal...can merge if necessary

Feel like this has been posted before, but no to Cut. Don’t even have a dawg in this fight. I agree with the notion of finding another stepping stone, but Cut should not be it. I would take Les before him if you’re just looking for a few years.

Cut is not coming to TN. The hold up last time was he wanted to bring his entire staff from Duke and that staff isn't close to being an SEC staff. He would need elite recruiters to make up for his lack of being a good recruiter. Regardless, Tee isn't coming back just to be an OC it would be for a HC job only. The whole coach in waiting $hit is never a good idea. Plus Cut loves it where he's at and at his age and heart problems he doesn't want a high stress job.

The whole key here is we need to get our staff back to Orange bloodlines. We get Tennessee and our former players do to.

Cut’s health situation is vastly improved- but the stress of UT vs Duke, I just wouldn’t risk it if I were him. For his sake, I think this ship has sailed.

With where we are now that would be the best thing to do. Doing that may not enable short term success, but would be huge and stable for the long term.

However I do not think Martin would ever come unless maybe it was for a HC job.

But if somehow they could get Martin as HC and bring in Steele for DC and assist HC that could prob work. Steele has a ton of exp, and some HC exp (although that part isnt good).

Would also love to see Holloway in the mix somewhere for something.........maybe he as HC could lure Martin back.

Cutliffe is very happy at Duke. He plans to stay there a few more years, retire, and enjoy his golden years with his grandchildren. I wish him well... he's earned it. Duke is very happy with his 6 - 7 annual wins and an occasional bowl game, and well they should be.

What Cutcliffe said is irrelevant. These talent scouts have another offer and "will make him say NO." After they explain his coaching staff to him, he likely will jump up and down and shout YES.

Its over with Cutt. He is happy where he is.
