Gundy tempers turnaround - College Football - Rivals.com

He knows how to coach an offense and has had top 30 recruiting classes the last three years. He's starting to really produce a rly good program there and he protects his players :) I rly think he can be a good hire young, very smart offensive guy, who can recruit.

"very smart offensive guy" and someone that hires Trooper Taylor as a co-OC will never be the same person.

Yeah but remember Trooper calls 0% of the plays...therefore he has zero influence on the offense...

Look, he's a better option than Muschamp. Is Gundy my first pick? no. not at all. But a lot of us want a smart, young offensive mind and he has done that. His offense is averaging 50 a game. Now, it's against nobody, but they have still scored in the past. He is not the first option, but it wouldn't be a bad hire imo.

I couldn't disagree more.

That would make me question Gundy's intelligence even more. Hire a guy as your co-OC and then make sure he has "zero influence on the offense". Brilliant.

That was merely sarcasm by me. I started a Trooper thread and didn't even mention playcalling and people came out of the woodworks to make sure I knew he did not call plays.

It was seriously like 10 people, I got a nice laugh from their ignorance.

Look, I don't take a guy who has never been a hc and taking a huge risk on. Look taking Gundy would be a huge risk, yes, but he has had some hc expeirience. Muschamp never has. Tennessee can't afford to take a risk on someone like Muschamp. You can say the same thing about Gundy.

He's too much of a loose cannon---he blows up on camera after a loss---not good.

The player he was protecting hates his guts now because of his tirade and the way he was treated.

he hired trooper to recruit, plain and simple. do you really think that Rodney Garner should be asst head coach because of his coaching ability?

Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator are two different positions with very different meanings.
