"It seems like whoever's worked with him has done an excellent job," Nutt said. "He knows where he wants to go with the ball. He's been very accurate, and when you've got a running game, that's a quarterback's best friend."

Nutt also said Tennessee senior running back Montario Hardesty, who has rushed for 901 yards and eight touchdowns so far this season, is "probably top three in our league."

Really interesting article if you have a Rivals sub. Talks about O and some of the team talk about him.

So who is it exactly that has turned around Crompton so drastically? Lane, Cheney, Reeves?

A combination of all??? I would give most of the credit to Kiffin. He is, in essence, the QB coach. I think all of those guys are good coaches though. Reaves is underrated IMO.

The system Lane is running seems to be quarterback friendly. John has been through what 4 or 5 different coordinators at Tennessee? He got his chance last year, but the Clawfense was a failure. David C was rumored to have said Crompton was uncoachable, so it has to be the system. Lane is going to get his guy in here and it's going to be fun watching whoever it is for the next 3 years.

It just seems to me that any QB recruit who has seen that kind of transformation from last year to this year would be intrigued in what this staff can do to build them up. I can't wait to see what they will do with Nick Stephens. I may be alone on this, but I have like the touch he puts on the ball and think they will have him ready to be the starter next year. And hearing about the potential and the fact his ceiling of potential is through the roof, I can't wait to see what they are going to do with them. It is an exciting time to be a Vol.

This is all just odd to me. Clawfence has his QB this year I saw #2 in the nation in some category. I was to shocked to pay closer attention, by the way I think they still stink could be wrong. Now the question. A Richmond QB picked the offense up and had alot of success. Now his QB, which is probably 2-3 star coming out at best, has picked the offense up. Why couldn't Crompton, who was the #2 QB in the nation coming out, and the rest of the offense, true D 1 talent, execute the offense.

maybe there was no buy-in from any coach on the staff besides Clawson?

Clawson doesn't even run the same offense at Bowling Green. Tennessee showed him his offense doesn't work at the D1-A level.

Wouldn't it be something if Crompton developed into a star NFL QB. Think of all the positive pub Kiffin would get. It sounds far fetched, but who knows with his potential.
