Hotel recommendations for JAX

Would you go with one of the ones you suggested for downtown or somewhere at Jacksonville Beach? We've got our entire crew coming with kids aged 12 to 18. I guess my #1 goal is to be around other Vol fans. If it was Jacksonville Beach any places you would recommend? The Hampton Inn is booked up but I haven't tried other places yet

Downtown you have the Hyatt, a Hilton and homewood suites, a hampton property, and all of those are a nice walk to the stadium. I wouldn't choose other downtown hotels. There are many in the airport area, at the beach (the team usually stays at the Marriott Sawgrass here), a bunch by St. John's town Center, and Southside by Tinseltown, and in the area near Orange Park and also where I-10 and 295 intersect.

I am Airbnb a house due to 6ppl and the two dogs. It is between San Jose and San Jose Forest. How is the neighborhood? And food and or travel recommendations? Maybe a restaurant with a patio that allows dogs?
Thanks in advance!

In your area, you are going to want to go to Wicked Barley. It's a bit south of where you are staying near Mandarin, but the dogs will be fine there. Lots of beer and actually a great menu. In a pinch, Players grill is probably about two minutes away from you. I think there is some outside seating. There are not a lot of dog-friendly venues in actual San Marco from what I remember. I am in and out of Jacksonville for work. One piece of advice I have heard from people who go to the Jags games (I don't, so don't hold me to it), take the transit bus to the game. You basically avoid all traffic, don't have to worry about parking or drinking and driving.

If you want to stay at the beach I'd recommend staying at One Ocean Plaza for a bunch or money or else stay at Sheraton Four Points on the beach. Both are nice. I'm a Hilton type guy and there are several hilton or hampton properties at the beach. Lot's of fun stuff to do out there and the pep rally is going to be there on the 1st.

It’sA neat place for sure. Last time I checked, One Ocean was only about $170 which is a pretty good deal for a nice mini-Resort on the beach.

It is a beautiful hotel. The pep rally will be next door to the Four Seasons on the beach too, if anyone wants to just walk. There is also a Joe's Crab Shack right there among many other choices to eat.

Any Long John Silvers or Captain D's in that area?
