Hot take that I don't think is very hot: Desean Bishop Breaks Dylan Sampson's record for rushing touchdowns this year

Idk, the backfield was pretty efficient in 24 with Sampson carrying the load. That’s the only season in the CJH era that he didn’t have a legit 3 man rotation and it’s also the only year we made the playoffs
I think a team does better with one good rb carrying the load, vs splitting carries too much.

It would be nice to see BD with 180+ touches in SEC play this year. Our TOP stat needs to be higher to help the D.

Also we need to slow our tempo down as well. We should go slower in the first half so our offense has enough juice to go fast in the second half, and the defense has enough juice to stay on the field

You just made my point. The majority were the same guys but the strategy is different. Nico was a freshman QB. Hooker was a veteran who had total control of the offense. When u have a veteran QB, a coach is far more likely to rely on the QB. With Nico u had no choice but to rely on the run game and defense to win. Hence why they played the game at a different pace.

It’s not magic, it’s common sense that if you slow the game down u limit possessions for the opponent. That will always help your defense. Why do u think a random backup OL catches a cramp on an extra point after every quick TD??

As far as the 3 yards and cloud of dust statement, football has always been won in the trenches since the beginning of time. Saban has 100 rings off running the ball and playing strong defense. Hell Michigan recently won a title with a QB who couldn’t throw the ball across the street and that was after LSU, Clemson, & 2020 Bama. Indiana just won a natty with a QB who had 1 total 300yard passing game. When u can run the ball, you control the game and that’s on every level of football. Look at Walker in the Superbowl and look at Saquon the year before him.
Strategy might have played a factor but more importantly it was talented guys who have developed in the system. You can't expect freshmen to play like upperclassmen. Also I named several key players that weren't on both teams. It's also common sense that if you slow down the game you are also limiting the possessions for your offense to pull away so you give yourself more opportunities for tight games. I didn't say you can't win the other way. I'm saying there isn't an end all, be all.

With us having to start a young freshman QB, like we did in Sampson's last year, we are likely to lean heavy toward the run game. So he will have the opportunity and I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen. He will undoubtely compete to top it.

Wife showed me a shot of Bishop on some social media site of him shirtless. Unless it was photoshopped he has been working with our new S&C coach a lot. Incredible if true.

He’s been benching 400 lbs since spring of 2025.

He was ripped last year. And he’s still ripped.

He has the same ability Dylan had falling forward after contact so big for a running game. I also believe our OL play will be better this year as well. In CHRIST Alone

I have mixed feelings about this. I’d be thrilled for Bishop but it would mean our offense was one-dimensional
