It’s time for that annual UT tradition known as a coaching search, so please let me know any REALISTIC candidates and I’ll add them to the list.

I would love Freeze, but if we are truly having NCAA issues, then I think that probably eliminates Chadwell and Freeze.
Shoot it hasn’t gotten to the NCAA yet. If we fired Pruitt for cause and then hired Freeze we’d look like massive hypocrites but at this point who cares? The program barely has a pulse and needs a shot of adrenaline. Let’s play football

I agree, but that's not how UT does things. They'll play it safe and conservative as always. They went outside the box one time in the last 50 years with Kiffin and got roasted, so never again.

For this mess right here, we need Jesus to fix it.

I’d like to think the money-men will decide to stop gambling with the future of Tennessee football and do what it takes to bring in a real coaching commodity.

I like Matt Campbell and Malzahn but I would prefer
- Bob Stoops
- Pat Fitzgerald
- Bryan Harsin

Gus Malzahn (former Aub HC) - Would consider, but further down my list

Hugh Freeze (Liberty HC) - my top choice, throw a bag of money at him, but have an air tight contract that tilts heavily toward the University

Matt Campbell (Iowa St. HC) - Interested, but I think he’s happy at ISU.

Billy Napier (Louisiana HC) - Exciting brand of football, has coached those kids up. Worth a good look.

Bill O’Brien (former Texans and Penn St. HC)
Don’t think this is the route I want to go. For some reason I doubt the guy would even consider coming here.

Jamey Chadwell (Coastal Carolina HC) - Probably in my top 2-3 along with Napier. I think he gets a big time job somewhere. Definitely worth an interview.

You forgot Gruden.

Gus Malzahn (former Aub HC) Nah. Without the bagman and cabin, his recruiting is suspect.
Hugh Freeze (Liberty HC) Most likely to be successful given the position and situation we find ourselves in.
Matt Campbell (Iowa St. HC) Pipe dream. He's making enough and I think he's happy there.
Billy Napier (Louisiana HC) Not sure he's up to this level just yet. Risky.
Bill O’Brien (former Texans and Penn St. HC) Great resume, but I see him as an NFL lifer. He's a bit old to give us the continuity we need.
Jamey Chadwell (Coastal Carolina HC) Bright, young, from the area. Articulate. Risky. His record is up and down. He also has had run ins with the NCAA at coastal. If I'm going down that road, I'm going with Freeze.

One guy I'd add to the list would be Kiffin. I think he's grown up a great deal. I know he'd appreciate this job and opportunity if he had another shot at it. Having said that I don't think the decision makers will be so quick to forgive and forget. Still, I can't imagine Kiffin taking the chance by moving on from a job after only one year again. Might be something that would forever tarnish his image and career should be job hunting again and at UT, you know he'd be on the hot seat at some point. Kiffin would be fantastic here if we got so lucky. The guy can coach offense and he's a master on social media. He'd tear it up recruiting. All he'd need would be a great DC. I know...pipe dream.

Yes we are. Otherwise, you would have heard from Phil and the powers that be by now. As someone else said on another thread, the silence is deafening.

I don’t know whether he is being fired or not. I’m not sure there are any reports out there that necessitate them coming out and saying he’s staying. Fanbro radio, message boards, and random Twitter accounts. The story about the violation I heard was a minor violation.
