Malzahn has pressure, Miles has a lot of pressure and Sumlin has a ton of pressure but the person in all of cfb with the most pressure is Butch.

Definitely this is the year he wanted and said our boys would be really good. Its 3rd year, we are restless etc but most pressure in the land??? That's crazy IMO. And I dont think this guy is an idiot I can't remember what show he hosts...

It's an interesting discussion. Seems like we had a thread over the summer about which coaches are under the most pressure this season.

Butch doesn't have hot seat pressure, like some of the others, but any time you have high preseason expectations, there's a degree of pressure that comes along with it.

It's our time to win.

Funny thing is, I agree that there's pressure on Butch to prove he can reach the Championship mountaintops ... but that pressure is hyped way out of context into something like a threat to his job.

There is no threat to his job. Period. He has brought us too far, too fast, from where we were in 2012 for him to have any job insecurity at all. Period.

No, all his pressure is of the positive type: can he be the best, can he make this team the best?

If you want guys with job pressure, look to Miles (though he doesn't deserve it), Sumlin (who kinda does), Malzahn (who likely does), and Freeze (who really does, if Tunsil's honest).

He'll be fine. Everyone outside of the players, coaches, fan base, and a few media members expect Tennessee to be Tennessee. They'll win some games but the inability to close out teams will bite them. No pressure just play football. Players win ball games not hype, media attention, ect. Just win.

Media likes having fun at the expense of our fans that is all that is. They have perception that were at the gates with pitchforks and torches going back to Kiffin leaving

"Pressure to win" and "pressure to live up to expectations" are two totally different animals. Malzahn and Sumlin have failed to meet expectations for the last two seasons and Miles simply hasn't won the SEC enough to keep the admin off his back. Their stock is on the downward trend, although I think LSU would be idiots to get rid of the mad hatter. Butch has flipped the roster from, what was commonly referred to as, a dumpster fire into one what could and should compete for an SEC crown.

Pressure? Sure. In the same category as those three? Nuh-uh.

Not taking injuries in to consideration, this season we will find out what kind of coaches we have. For the first time in what seems like forever, the Vols are loaded with experience, playmakers, speed (SEC speed), and strength.

Soon...

CBJ's job is in no clear and present danger. But if/when a new AD comes in, he will make any changes he thinks are needed to keep UT's sports cash cow producing.

A non-issue, really. Team 120 should play in the SECCG, we'll land another solid recruiting class and the near future will continue to be bright orange.

I think the pressure for CBJ this year is more with the 2017 recruits that with the fans. Sure, we will be super pissed if we can't turn a few corners but probably not enough to start burning our beds.

But CBJ will have a much harder sales job in continuing to get top shelf recruits into the program if he can't pull us out of mediocrity this year. Especially with all of the talent we have not only in players but also coaching staff.

I'm thinking it's a moot point though. We gonna rock!!! GO VOLS!!!

Anybody else singing "under pressure " in their head?
