CP3 is one of my favorite NBA players. I don't know what I think of this.

This makes no sense to me unless nelsons and carters contracts are cheap and or about to expire.

I don't think Paul is worth giving up Carter and Nelson. I mean Jameer just made the All-Star team not long ago.

PGs better than Paul- ...
PGs better than Nelson- Paul, Rondo, Williams, Nash, Kidd, Westbrook, Harris, Rose, Evans, Collison, Billups, Jennings, Davis...

If this trade went down, it would be the biggest steal in years. Carter sucks now and Nelson is an average PG. That being said, this is the third time this rumored trade has popped up in the last two weeks and I assume it will enjoy the same death it had the last two times.

This deserves its own thread?

The NO executive who inks this deal would get fired .00001 seconds after it got done.

Think you're selling Nelson way short there. Collison? Really?

I may be selling Nelson short but I'd definitely take Collison over him.

Collison's stats while splitting time with Paul: 12.4 ppg, 5.7, apg, 1 spg as a rookie

Nelson's stats this year: 12.6 ppg, 5.4 apg, .7 spg.

Collison's stats as a starter: 18.8 ppg, 9.1 apg, and 1.4 spg.

New Orleans is trying to clear cap space. That's the whole point of this trade. The reason my blazers got so close to getting this one done was the expiring contracts of miller and przybilla.

They did need to clear cap space. That was before the Mo Pete trade last night though. Now they are below the luxury tax line and it is no longer a necessity to drop more payroll.

It would be nice to have more space but they don't need to. If any PG from the hornets gets traded, it will be Collison packaged with Okafor or Peja.

What was New Orleans' record with Collison starting?
