If you had to choose, which side of the ball do you hope turns out really good in this these next couple of years recruiting classes?
The defense was awful, but not all of those players returning are bad. But there's still zero pass rush nor 1 or 2 really solid corners (seen so far). Are you hoping for a fast turnaround or -
Would you rather the offense reload with the most likely departures or Hunter (for sure) Patterson, Bray, and a bunch of linemen graduating after next season? So many guys are for sure gone after next season.
I'm torn.

I want one or 2 studs for the offense and a slew of defensive talent. We have to have better depth at LB, more speed at DB and a pass rusher on the line.

I still think we have the key tools on offense. Even with the loss of the big 3. So... Defense

Defense wins with addition by subtraction in SunSeri. We will have to totally reload on offense after next season. IMO I say get the best WR and RBs possible right now. Let the coaching staff coach up Grey,Coleman, Bonner, etc and see what they can do with coaches who have the true ability to teach and coach up players. Try to grab a Carl Lawson maybe this offseason and some good LBs and keep together the solid pieces DD got for us somehow. Next season we have to and I do mean have to get some solid DBs that can instantly come in and play. We will have to totally replace our oline too.

Defense Defense and more Defense I would rather us stack up on Defensive talent this year. I could care less about a stud rb. I would rather we use our resources at effort on Getting our front seven right.

Even after next year when we lose out entire offensive line, we will still be solid up front.
We could have
kerbyson LT. 6'4. 320lbs
Marcus Jackson LG. 6'2. 310lbs
Crowder C. 6'2. 288lbs
Marquis Pair RG 6'5. 321 lbs
Posey RT. 6'5. 321lbs

That's an average weight of 312 lbs. That's a healthy 312 average. Crowder is quick for a center and Marcus Jackson is the strongest player on the team. The other 3 lineman are identical triplets at 6'5 321 lbs. We need to add Austin sanders this year for sure but I would safely put the rest of my schollys on defensive players.

1 QB
2 WR
2 RB
1 OL
1 TE

2 DT
3 DE
5 LB
6 Corners
2 Safeties

I think we only need a few impact players in this class on offense. Give me a good RB, two solid WR's and a couple of good OL. Maybe a reliable TE.

But on defense, we need a talent upgrade at almost every position. There is no spot on the field that I wouldn't characterize as a "position of need".

That makes it a pretty easy decision for me.

Get some stud D lineman who can put pressure on the passer and stuff the runs will do wonders for our slow secondary. Also need speed in the secondary and LB.

I would break the class down like this:

2 QB's - If Bray is leaving, I like to have 4 QB's on roster at all time, with one of them being redshirted.

1 RB - We don't have a need to have more than that. We have a Senior, Junior, 2 Sophomores, and a freshman would give us good depth there.

2 TE - I think you gotta take two tight ends. Brendan Downs and Justin Meredith are all we have there, and we've seemed to have a curse there. Take 2, get 4 on the roster.

4 OL - I think you have to have at LEAST 4 OL. Losing James, Stone, Fulton, Bullard, and Jackson, probably Tiny, is going to hurt. We need to recruit at least 4 OL if we're going to continue to have a quality line. Crowder, Posey, Kerbyson may be good O-Lineman, but the jury is still out.

4 DL - Losing Sentimore, Couch, McCullers, maybe Trent Taylor to transfer, means we need to replace some beef there. I would say at least 4 DL, 2 DE and 2 DT.

5 LB - Next year, Johnson is gone, and so is Smith. I think you need to get at least 5 LB and hope you get some quality talent there.

5 DB - This is the one position where we have some depth on, just need experience. But at the same time, to get some players in who could immediately help would be good. Losing Waggner hurts. Randolph will be back, Brewer hopefully will be better, and Teague is gone.

That gives you about 23 spots. After that, I say you just try to get the most talented players you can.

I just want some play makers. At least one on both sides of the ball.

Lawson/Bell/Ramsey on defense, one of the three or more than one would be solid.

Green/North/Kamara on offense.

Right now it looks like we have a better shot on offense.

to win in this league you must have elite defense and running game.

Florida is 11-1 with
102nd ranked total offense
35th rushing offense
114th passing offense

5th total defense
3rd scoring offense
1st pass efficiency defense

The 2014 Defensive Class has the potential to be one of the best we've had in a long long time.

I really hope CBJ can turn some things around quick we we can lock up the guys we have a shoe in with.

Using this, I'm hoping you would fill the last two spots with WR's. Considering we aren't going to be returning much at all.
