Not true. He threw for 56% against A&M and 42% against UAB, both home games. His previous two road games he went for 57% and 42%. He had thrown for more INTs than TDs and was mediocre at best on the season, until Saturday.Worth noting that Green’s struggles were over that stretch that they were on the road.
A&M was at the Cowboy’s stadium in Dallas. I’ll let you infer what you will about the crowd makeup of that game. Not true. He threw for 56% against A&M and 42% against UAB, both home games. Seems to be a very popular opinion. This is not going to be a popular opinion and I am one of Heupel's biggest supporters however, his in-game coaching and team discipline is of the level of Butch Jones. We are constantly the leaders in penalty yardage since he has got here, he doesn't know when to use his timeouts, and instead of putting your foot on their neck and most likely ending the game if you pick up a 4th down in opponents territory, he punts it back to Arkansas. I love Heupel but he has not impressed me since 2022 a very popular opinion.
The hell you talkin bout? "Our last 8 SEC games" includes 6 with offense players no longer here, with Milton the QB of 6 of those. Of our only 2 QBed by Freshman Nico, both have been SEC road games, and we are 50-50 on those, with both the W and the L giving us things to learn from, as QB, coach and team. ???If we only put up about 20pts (our average over the last 8 SEC games), it'll be tough to win.
Sami, It makes all the sense. I don't like it anymore than you do and I do go into every game hoping for a win. But if you look at history and even with new everything the struggles are the same. Barely win or can't win against bama, Florida or Georgia. Hell, we have a bad track record with Arkansas. Had the offense and offensive coaching pulled their weight last Saturday, Tennessee would have won without issue. But the costly penalties, overthrows, no throws, conservative, repetitive play calling and offensive line issues cost us the game. Obviously the team has played well so far, but we are going to struggle with teams we always struggle with because of the same issues in the past. Even this weekend will be a struggle. I really wish it wasn't but it will be.Sorry about that, it just gets frustrating seeing these kinds of comments that make zero sense. No offense, but please explain the slightest thing that anything this team does has to do with anything that has gone on in previous years, much less 30 years ago. Coaches, players, administration - everything is completely different. It's like saying "well we lost to this team three straight times in the '90's, so we're going to lose today". It's completely meaningless.
So while we might be galvanized, we might not be any better? Say it isn't so.The game Saturday night will tell us all we know about if Heupel is the right coach to keep leading this program. Vegas thinks he should win this game with relative ease if he is the right coach.
I said last year on here, that this game will be the measuring stick which we can use to make a fair and honest judgment about Heupel's future.
I haven't bet on a game since FSU V. Notre dame 93... 45.5 spread. ,but I digress. Twas just an observation, not a indictment. Save your two cents for your own amusement, cause you clearly don't know sh!t. I just made an observation based on results compared to successful TN. teams of the pastThe thread starter obviously has a bet on the game Saturday, thus the over the top hyperbole - embarrassing, putrid, scared, etc.
I honestly (and naively) believed that the ridiculous toxicity of this fan base would be mostly left in the dumpster with the Pruitt, Jones, and Dooley regimes, and the fact that we have real leadership from chancellor to AD to the head coaches committed to excellence would preclude the kind of idiocy we've seen here all week.
I clearly believed wrong.
Will the offense step up and play for Heupel, or will it be like last Saturday where they were no where to be found on the field (minus Dylan Sampson)? This won’t be a popular take. We really haven’t beaten anybody all season with our offense. Yes the cupcakes were easy however, our only other offensive output was NC State. We saw firsthand that they weren’t really a top 25 team anyway. Our offensive line struggled against Oklahoma and Arkansas. If we don’t step up and have good offensive line play on Saturday, we really are in danger of losing the Florida game too.

Arkansas is a good team, we came up short on a weak game plan. My gosh I hope they open it up!Best case scenario from that putrid performance vs. Arkansas, is that the embarrassment of such a sad showing pi$$es them off and serves as motivation to play "hair on fire" for the rest of the season and beyond. The game should be played with ill intent, Period! Should never be played scared or apprehensive. Praying it's galvanizing for them instead of creating doubts.
