Not really much time for TheNotes this morning, but Gentry Estes spoke with Dickie Vitale about his trip to the Boling Alley tomorrow....

tfpOnline:Gentry Estes
Some were surprised when Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl stood in the student section at a Lady Vols’ game this season with his shirt off and his chest painted.
Boisterous ESPN commentator Dick Vitale was not.

“He and I think a lot alike,” Vitale said of Pearl. “I thought that was phenomenal. It’s something that I would do. It was wacky.”

Vitale couldn’t remember the last time he visited Thompson-Boling Arena, saying it could date back before the Jerry Green coaching era.

But that doesn’t mean Vitale hasn’t noticed the recent changes at Tennessee, and he instantly credited them to Pearl’s excitable attitude.

“It’s his personality and the winning mentality,” Vitale said. “It really becomes contagious with all of the players. He really has that way of changing a situation and really making it positive. He’s got that special personality that exudes. I love that.”

Florida (25-4, 12-2 ) has dropped two of its past three contests and could be losing its grip on a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

“They go out and clinch the (SEC) championship, they celebrate, and they might have celebrated too soon,” Vitale said.

So Dickie V, what about Tennessee’s once-shaky NCAA hopes?

“The Vitale Bald Dome Index says forget the RPI,” Vitale said. “The VBDI says Tennessee: Lock city.”

Like Vitale or not, he brings cache' to whatever game he covers. Add to that, all the players understand that there is more attention on them, and Vitale's presence actually lays the foundation for a more intense game.

As if this one needed more incentive.

Go Vols!!

I am pumped too. TBA will be packed and LOUD. Pat Summit and her staff are going to return the favor of Bruce at the Duke game. She said they were going to embarass themselves but it was going to raise the roof off of TBA.:peace2: I can't wait until tomorrow night. I will be there to cheer on my VOLS!

I think we will have a big lead against florida at some point in this game just to give up the big lead with florida going on a run to setup a dramatic finish.. well y not thats how all the big games at home have turned out

Oh, no. No excuses or avoidance by me. If Florida cannot get themselves motivated for this game, then we have much bigger problems than just that one game.

That doesn't even make sense!! UT hasn't even lost at home while FU just lost at LSU.

UT 88
FU 79

If anyone can ruin that perfect home season for you, its UF.

now law gator, i have known u to be the most unbiased gator fan ive ever met, but ur prediction is absolutely ridiculous....florida is in a slump, tenn has won their last two..no matter who wins, its going to be a very very very close game

I admit my prediction is somewhat motivated by my desire to see the Gators use this game to wake up and get back on track. I have just got to think that Donovan recognizes that this Gator team can easily go South if he does not get them to turn it around. That why I think he will pull out all the stops and hold nothing back. He will not excuse a single lazy pass or a poor shot with 12 left on the clock.

very true but noah and the boys will be distracted by pat and her:boobies:
You've got it all wrong. It's going to be all about Pat and the squad wearing the baby orange (power) T-backs.

Who knows the thong song?

Not only that, we've won 4 of our last 5, while Florida has lost 2 of its last 3....Should make for an interesting game tomorrow night....Too bad I won't get to see it, just listen to it....Hopefully

Greedy attorneys...

I'm gonna be a faithful homeboy...
Volunteers...76
Alligators....73....in OT.

Dickie V goes ballistic over the atmosphere created by 21,000 screaming Vol fans.

not to be argumentative, but the only way we win a game where we score less than 80 is if we absolutely destroy them, i don't think that will happen.
