It doesn’t have to be all that dominant. Whichever one loses that game will fall out of the top 4 (the same as they did last year). And without another game left on their schedule, they have no way of moving back up into it.

TCU will not move and they look to go undefeated. We have an uphill battle and need some luck. Oregon helped us, but TCU has to lose one for us to have a chance.

And #2 plays #3 the last game of the loser’s regular season, meaning one of them will drop out of the top 4 without a way to move themselves back up into it.

Huh? UCLA losing hurts Pac12's playoff hopes tremendously. Not only are they no longer a quality win for USC but they are now out of the mix as well. If they had one out, they were a threat.
