Hong Kong police threaten to use live bullets as standoff with protesters escalates

The students have taken over the university and turned it into a fortress that so far has withstood repeated police assaults. I see this new threat by Hong Kong Police as a sign they are starting to lose control of the situation and/or have used up there resources and patience.

So the students are still besieged by riot police. The cops are not allowing them to leave and those that do are arrested. The police seem dead set on showing these students who the boss is. Also rifles are being deployed by the police for the first time that I remember.
