I looked it up, and we have more guys over 200 and they have 3 or 4 more guys over 6'5". Overall their team is taller. So, I think that tells you something. I remember when we used to play Vandy, just how much bigger their guys looked in comparison to ours back then.

I thought Vandy had 3-4 guys that were physically imposing, but while strength can produce high bat speeds, so can athleticism and hard work. I’ll take bat speed over an imposing frame anytime.

I was a pitcher at TN Tech in the early 90s. We played UT in a midweek at our place. We had one of the worst bench-clearing brawls I have ever seen….started by Hecker. Ha. Multiple NCAA suspensions and we weren’t allowed to play each other the following season. I have video of it somewhere. A memory I’ll never forget. Haha.
