With this team's Performance so far and having 79 DONGS thru 32 games, I was just curious to look at the All-Time Home Run Leaders at UT. My data doesn't show averages, slugging percentages, extra base hits, BB or any additional information. I basically looked at the top 8 Home run leaders in UT's History and looked at UT's current roster and compared # of at bats to the # of HR's Hit.... Todd Helton is regarded as the Greatest plyer to ever play at UT and looking at all the numbers I have to agree. Chris Burke is high on that list as well... I would recommend All UT Baseball fans to look up the 2022 UT BASEBALL RECORD Book. It's AWESOME.... One other note: Cody Hawn had an Awesome career at Tennessee. When I looked at his HR # compared to number of at bats ,I was impressed.. but see below for some interesting facts....And it's really not a good comparison due to so many things that are involved , such as Bats and competition but I thought was very interesting to look at.
Career Home run Leaders at UT
1.) Todd Helton (38) 756 AB's
2) Doug Hecker (37)
3) Cody Hawn (36) 397 AB's
Sonny Cortez (36)
5) Bobby Tucker (34)
6) J P Arencibia (33) 690 AB's
Evan Russell (33) 649 AB's
8) Blake Forsythe (30)
Luc Lipcius (30) 518 AB's

Current Roster Guys that have High Career HR #'s
Evan Russell (33) 649 AB's (1 every 19.6 at bats)
Luc Lipcius (30) 518 AB's (1 every 17.3 at bats)
Jordan Beck (23) 424 AB's (1 every 18.4 at bats)
Trey Lipscomb (15) 187 AB's (1 every 12.5 at bats) - should be in the running for SEC player of the year. IMO

There are more on this current roster that will have some amazing home run #'s at the end of Their Career's. Be interesting to follow. Jared Dickey, Blake Burke and Christen Moore are 3 that I personally will be watching for the Dong Show. JD is just a pure hitter.

Team Home runs for one year"
107-1998
98 - 2021
87-2009
81 - 2010
79 - 2022 is currently 5th in HR's - 32 games into the season. Should break the all time record.

Our home run totals were boosted a bit by the lousy pitching we faced in a few early season series. Our HR/game ratio will be decreasing as we get deeper into the SEC season, so I don't think you can extrapolate on a straight line, i.e. - 56/32x79 = 138. But I think our record will still be broken, and maybe by a lot.

I agree with you , but I looked at the SEC only stats and they are holding their own. Be Interesting to follow !!

Not in any fasion saying that Luc or Evan are comparable to Todd Helton but when you think about both of them in this line up due to Covid... Add Beck , Gilbert , Ortega , Burke , Moore , Dickey , Lawson and Lipscomb to them , seems to give a more clear picture to the Choas this line up creates for the opposing teams , 63 career HR's from 2 Veteran's in that line up. I honestly didn't realize that fact about the 2 of them.

Just need 28 more and we should be guaranteed 28 more without looking at the schedule; 18 SEC (6 weeks), 6 mid week games, 2 SECT, 2 NCAAT.

It would be a cool moment to see Helton's career record broken.
That number is going down. My Dad was talking about how big Candy's guys are, and I was thinking I think Tennessee may be the stouter team. I looked it up, and we have more guys over 200 and they have 3 or 4 more guys over 6'5". Overall their team is taller. So, I think that tells you something. I remember when we used to play Vandy, just how much bigger their guys looked in comparison to ours back then.
