This reminds me of that insane republican ex-congresswoman Katherine Harris. She tried to get state funding from Florida to research the effectiveness of "Celestial Drops" (company claimed it was blessed healing water) on many different illnesses and conditions. I think she was trying to get them in the neighborhood of 4 million for the research.

It's amazing what gets proposed sometimes, by both parties.
