We have a ways to go on offense. Starting up front.

But this isn't Bryan Randall or Micheal Vick's Hokies.

They are about as talented as some of the lesser Dooley teams.

They have some under the radar kids who are developing. And they don't have an idenity yet. Yet.

I think App State is better than them right now. End of the season maybe a different story.

So, we need to be very afraid then....

After our performance from Week 1, we shouldn't be insulting anyone for not being very good. At least they took care of business like expected.

Let's just focus on going into Bristol and playing well, regardless of our opponent.

We don't either. After Thursday I will no longer overlook an opponent, I hope our players have the same mindset.

If games were played on paper then I agree.

We should have beat Appy st by 3 touchdowns, but we didn't.

So, I will watch the game and see hiw it plays out.

I hope your right though.

UT should beat VT by 2 scores based on talent.... but they should have beaten ASU by considerably more than the spread. We'll see if last week was a fluke or an indication that Jones has been figured out by everyone.

They aren't that bad either. Ford is an elite WR, and Bucky Hodges isn't far behind. I heard Josh Ward on the radio here in VA this morning saying that Sutton wouldn't necessarily be matched up against Ford. That concerns me a little.

Their RBs are good, but not nearly to the level of what other teams on our schedule have. On defense, they have a good, but not great secondary, but their front 7 lacks depth. However, they do have Bud Foster, and I know he'd love to shake the impression people have of him that his defenses can't stop teams with a mobile QB.

We'll see. I'm really nervous about this game, namely because I know so many VT people, and I really don't want to have to endure what I had to endure the last time we played them.

Who knows how good they are. They very well could've had a "bad" game too. Or they could've kept things vanilla also. We will find out soon enough.

After last weeks performance couldn't the same be said about us? It doesn't do much good to have lots of talent if you aren't going to or can't us it. We are a very talented, decently deep, and experienced team. Gotta play like one though.

To me it comes down to coaching. Remember, the only decent victory of Dooley's career was against Jones' Bearcats. Can Jones finally shake off the monkey on his back and prove he belongs as a coach in one of college football's elite conferences? Or will he gameplan poorly, again, and allow an inferior team to beat us?

VaTech may or may not be good at the end of the year, who knows. Here is what we do know. There coach is a hot up and comer, their D Coord is one of the best in the business. On top of that, they have Power 5 players on that team, better athletes than App St for sure, at every position, and depth.

I think both teams (UT and VaTech) started poorly and both will playing with a chip on their shoulder wanting to prove that game one was an anomaly and they are better than that. Should set the stage for a big time night of prime time football on the biggest stage at a neutral site!! Hope they come out ballin'.

Nobody knows how good or bad V Tech is after one game. They could be great or App St may be twice as good as them.

After last Thur I wouldn't be the one to say either way and have a ton of crow to eat after the game.
