His dream job is head coach of Oregon. It is not that hard to understand.

If I had a job in CA, I would take a dramatic pay cut to come back to the South.

When you turn down Texas saying you believe in what Tennessee is doing and a year later you take a pay cut jump ship to a .500 team yea sounds like that's all that's going on here

God I do not want to agree with you... but I have too. Something just isn't right about it all.

It has nothing to do with the west coast, if he excepted a job at Oregon sure it would be easy to understand but Washington and taking a pay cut not so much

It has everything to do with the west coast. The only reason that you do not realize that is that it does not fit your stupid agenda. Of course I guess I should not be surprised considering you do not know the difference between excepted and accepted. It is well known that when it comes to sports it is tough to keep west coast guys away from jobs in the west coast. Take Jeff Tedford for example, he has garnered interest for more money from programs that are bigger than Cal, yet he has shown know interest in them. One of the many reasons that he did not accept the texas job last year is that he always planned to head west, this has been well known for a while, you just choose to ignore it.

they paid their previous DC $650k (one that ended his run by giving up 777 yards and 67 points), Wilcox was set to make $700k this season at UT, UW had to pay no buyout and and he still took a pay cut? Either AA is wrong or Wilcox isn't very smart

He wanted to get back to his roots on the left coast! The whole thing with Texas and with Ari St were rumors and smoke from his agent to leverage a new contract that wouldn't restrict him from heading back to the left coast and the PAC... the SEC is a beast of a conference and as a young DC he may have felt like he was in over his head and job security was more important than truly testing himself in the best conference in the nation... can't say I blame him or his agent!
