Hire Chris Petersen. He is currently making less than 5 million a year and only 1.5 million buyout. If we can offer Gundy 6 why not offer Petersen 7-8 million plus cost of living is probably cheaper in East Tennessee with no state income tax. He has been a winner at Boise State and Washington not to mention he went to playoffs last season.

If he has interest!!!! Get Him!!!!! That's not rocket science at all. Would be special here. We would immediately dominate the SEC East.

They've already contacted Petersen. Doubt he has serious interest in this job.

Agreed, Heck of a coach. Give him whatever it takes for him and a great staff. Make it a 6+ year deal. He would take us back to the top.

Not a chance anyone not looking for a big step up in their career would willingly walk into this mess of an administration. Think potential, cause proven ain’t coming.

I'm beginning to think no one has interest in working for these dumb asses in our athletic department.

Someone high up needs to clean house and start over NOW.

The time that should've been spent recruiting a quality head coach was wasted secretly negotiating with a scumbag no other program in the country wanted to hire.

This is the University of Tennessee Athletic Department. They really only want those working in Ohio to coach here.

But let us not worry! I think I know who the Haslams want to go after now:

Don't think he (Peterson) and his family will leave King County for a place like Knoxville.

Been offensive coordinator at Florida and SouthnCarolina.
Now, we will have to outbid Rice for his service and Gamecock fans were disappointed with their offense this year but, hey, we need a coach. :rock:

Hey all you uninformed morons who melted at the deal with Schiano - the best coach we could've gotten at UT - got news for you. Gundy, Petersen, Venables, etc - are not going to coach for UT. Thanks to you morons.

His resume speaks for itself! This guy is a winner and basically makes what Butch made at Washington. Simply double his salary but offer 7-8 then if he doesn’t bite offer 10 million. Would be worth every damn penny!
