6-3 isn't beating the hell out of anybody. That's scraping by. We gave away that game no matter how you look at it.

And the Peach bowl is better than the last few bowls bammer has been to.

And to think I was just telling the other Mods how impressed I was by the quality of Bama fans on the board tonight. I guess there's one in every crowd.

One thing that has always bothered me about that cheer . . . I have no idea what a Rammer Jammer is, and it doesn't rhyme with Alabama.

Celebrate, party and enjoy the spoils of victory. I believe you come to Rocky Top next year sans BC and most of your linebackers and secondary. Also watch your wealthy boosters. Another violation is the death penalty, CHEATERS!! :moon2:

That's where Bammer comes from :p

Says a lot about the education levelof the state when your eight word cheer contains two made-up words. :biggrin2:

Interesting! A Tennessee fan, or might I assume a Tennessee native, is bad mouthing the educational level of an Alabama university. I tend to forget that the great city of Knoxville and the University of Tennessee has birthed so many Truman Scholars, Rhodes Scholars, Fulbright Scholars and Academic All Americans. My apologies! Our academic program, specifically at the University of Alabama, far trumps your outhouse of a college.

Might I add that "Rocky Top" is by far one of the most redneck fight songs that has ever been sung in collegiate football history. It makes little to no sense!

I do like the following, though:

"Once I had a girl on Rocky Top; Half Bear, other Half Cat; Wild as a Mink; but sweet as soda pop; I still dream about that!"

THAT is utter brilliance! I would tend to rather have the "made up words" of Rammer Jammer, than speak so poorly of a "Half Bear and Half Cat" girl. It is good, though, that you still dream about that!

I found this to be an interesting quote by a Tennessee fan two years ago.

"We only play Rocky Top when we score!"

Ahhh, so wrong was he. I heard Rocky Top being played today a total of probably 40 times. I heard it when the Vols got a first down; I heard it when the Vols got a tackle; I heard it when Mr. Fulmer solely took down a Krispy Kreme truck.

I think the Rammer Jammer was the name of the school newspaper or something like that back in the old days. The Yellowhammer is the state bird.

They have been waiting a long time to do that cheer.Hopefully it will be at least another 10 years before its heard again when the Vols are in Bama.

I present you with the COURAGE AWARD for boldly trolling a site and waiting until a narrow victory is secured before a flaming post.

Well done sir.

Come on! It was not a "FLAMING" post.
There was nothing inherently "mean" about that post!

Gloating? Probably! Classless? No!
