We'll keep Kines, you can have the rest. We have a couple of offensive tackles that we'll let go if you let us borrow those brown paper bags. Deal?

Look if your coaches had our offensive talent plus Brodie, Bama would be undefeated. LSU and Auburn finally exposed your inexperienced OL!

We would gladly take Shula!!! It is sad how your fans are back to being like the fans of old. Get rid of everyone but Kines? That is funny, 2 years ago you guys wanted, begged and pleaded for him to be fired. Since you are losing a lot of starters on D this year, I suspect you'll want him fired again in a year. UT certainly has our share of immature, narcissistic fans, but you guys win without challenge in that category!

Well, I can understand it- they pretty lost it the way we lost to UGA or we lost to the Aubies last year... embarrassingly. The stat that sticks out is that their mental game collapsed so bad they got sacked 11 times.

11!

Obviously, when we went down there Shula caught himself a case of the Fulmer Clap in the postgame handshake.

Think about this: Brodie Croyle was 16-29 with 11 sacks. That means they called 40 pass plays and only 16 of them were successful

...which means their O line and RBs melted down mentally as bad or worse in the running game if they felt like they still had to keep passing it.

We should save the antibiotics we were going to send up the Hill and mail them to Tuscaloosa.

You know, I just had a bright thought.... Does this mean that, in the end, Fulmer did find a way to beat Bama this year?

Lost? We didn't even show up. Worst preparation and offensive effort I have ever seen from Bama.

Well, not really. The running game was good. Darby looked very good, averaging 5 yards per carry, with a long of 19. But when the coaches decide to pass, on third and short, when the running game is going great, and then the pass fails, you have to punt, and then Auburn scores, it gets old in a hurry. Brodie lost 68 yards due to sacks. Our offensive line was doing poorly at stopping the rush, as usual, and Auburn brought the kitchen sink. Darby was terrific, the only hope for Bama. Shula even substituted to get him out of the game in favor of freshman Glen Coffee. Shula called a horrible game, and the Bama team didn't practice in shoulder pads all week, despite desperately needing blocking practice. It was a pathetic effort by Bama's offense and coaching. Defense, and Kines, were outstanding as usual.

But you just had to know that the lack of offense was going to catch up to Bama. They weren't going to magically flip a switch and score 30 points.

The morale of this year's Iron Bowl is what lookes quite apparent before the game: Auburn is much better than Alabama. If they played 10 times, I think Auburn would win 8 or 9.

Unless 'bama still had Prothro. Kid was a one man wrecking crew to a defensive secondary... that said, it looks like Tuberville may be Shula's Spurrier(to Fulmer) or Stoops(to Mack Brown).

Shula is good. Truth is, Rader is good too. Don't forget this team is weak and thin from the NCAA violations. If you had told me UA would win more than 7 games before this season started I'd have laughed at you. If Shula had our talent, he'd be undefeated, headed to Pasadena and Rader would be a freaking hero. BTW, this comes from one of the all-time bammer haters....me!

The reality is that BAMA has a very good defense and a mediocre offense. They have one decent win against an average FLORIDA team and a series of ugly nailbiters over MISS ST, TN, and I think one or two others.

Their record and the wins over hapless FL and TN lured BAMA fans into thinking they were better than they really were.

I think a lotta 'Luring' was goin on this season. We were lured in to thinkin this team was gonna have a great year with a solid bunch of returning players with game time, a pre season #3 ranking. But We all chose to ignore that looming schedule on the horizon of really good ball clubs at their house. Then reality hit like a louisville slugger between the nose and chin.
