Volnation the dis functional family next door. We have sunshine pumpers, negavols, indifferent, mega fans, true fans etc and so on. For me personally I don't care if your the eternal optimist, registered pessimist or whatever, as long as your a fan.

What I see here is a passionate bunch of people that care. We all have our opinions, and we all want to express them. And we should. We all know it's a forum and that it don't really mean anything in the end. Won't really have any influence or bearing on any issue with the powers that be. But who cares? We're fans, not the most reasonable bunch. Plus I had rather argue with some of you instead of my wife. I don't have to live with you.

We all have one thing in common, The University of Tennessee Volunteers Football! That's why we log on.

Just keep being a fan! Keep on keepin on!

Dang it that was beautiful OP. You need a job that deals with conflict resolution. You could bring all sides together. Seriously though you hit the nail on the head. GO VOLS !!!!!!!

Thought this was gonna be a "Here's why I'm a real fan and you're not" thread.

Good work OP.

That's exactly right. I hate it when people pretend there are camps. When it comes down to it, you're either a fan or you're not and -whatever your opinion -you're either cordial or not. And frankly, I don't care about the fan part if you'll just act like an adult... or at least be entertaining.

I have hated the losses as much as anyone. I got to thinking and it dawned on me that we are killing ourselves with mistakes. Each game we have lost was lost because we had touchdowns called back. THE WINNING TOUCHDOWNS!!!!!!! Call it snakebite or blame coaching of execution.....probably some of all.....this will pass and when the wins come we will have excitement through the rafters. We really have some exciting play makers.

Yeah, I think that's the part that's most frustrating. You (members in general) don't have to be an ass just because you can. You know you wouldn't call someone an idiot if you were having a conversation, for no other reason than simply being cordial or compassionate to their feelings. You may think it, but you wouldn't say it.

Maybe at least consider the opposing opinion before going full blown blaster.

But hey, in the end we're all fans and that's what matters.

Great post IMO. Anyone who has hung in there since 2005 has earned the right to vent and be pissed off.

We love our Vols or we wouldn't be here.

There are many varying degrees of each of these “fan styles”. My wife would say I’m a negavol, but compared to my dad and brother. I’m a happy go lucky guy. I enjoy watching the games way more than they do because they’re never satisfied with the play calling or player performance. One of my kids became a VFL being 6 years old at national championship and downhill from there for a very long time. At some point I asked myself would I be happier, healthier, richer, better looking, stronger, faster, smarter, or cooler depending on the Vols season and the answer is the same if we go 0-12 as if we’re 12-0. So let’s enjoy our beloved Vols, always hope, never bet for them. Especially never bet against them. Rejoice in the victories. Grieve the losses. But keep smiling regardless.
Go big Orange!

Man, this was the year and about the time I realized Butch wasn’t going to be the one to get us “there”.
