If you guys are so confident that your team are going to crush the impotent Vols, I'm sure you have already called your bookies and laid the 30 points for a sure payday. Right?? Let's have a show of hands before the game of the ones that are letting their wallets do their talking:

I bet on the gators a few weeks ago while in vegas. can't remember the line but it was in the 30's. remember thinking it wouldn't matter, either.

I wouldn't take a 30 point spread against any team. Too much can happen in a game late with the 2's and 3's on the field.

I, sir, am not a betting man. However, I would not place that bet either. I, myself, am rational realize this is the toughest conference in America and UF is playing a great defense on Saturday. Maybe a lacking offense at times, but a great D, led by the best defensive player in the country. I take nothing for granted and realize this will be a battle on the field. I know fans and even ESPN are saying we will run up the score. I'm not saying we won't, I'm saying it will be closer than what everyone expects. You will run the ball on O, run small 5 yard out patters, play the clock and keep our O off the field for most of the game. Your D is good enough to keep you in the game.

apparently, you don't understand the idea of a point spread.

a good spread will make most rational people pause before laying money down. the fact that the spread had to be 28 1/2 (last i saw) tells you all you need to know about what the betting public thinks about florida and tennessee.

and while people may be scared to lay a bet with that spread (28 1/2 is a lot of freakin points), i don't think people would jump to make a bet on tennessee either.

for one, florida covered that spread in 2007 and could have just as easily covered that spread in 2008.

for another, florida has beaten better teams than 2009 tennessee by the spread set by las vegas (like georgia, lsu, and florida state 2008).

if my life hung in the balance and i was forced to pick this game with the spread, i would seriously take florida.

florida hasn't won by less than 28 (other than the two championship games, SEC and BCS) since losing to ole miss.

the betting line isn't just about tennessee and whatever disrespect you percieve to be there.....it's also about respect for florida.

I don't bet on Florida. Period. It's bad policy to bet on the team you root for. Plus I think Florida doesn't cover.

honest question, as I'm not sure of the answer...what was your lowest score last season and who was it against? I'm thinking it was us, but not sure and don't feel like looking it up.

anyone remember what the spread was last year?

I caught the 30 point line and then the 28 1/2 point spread. Being from the old school of gambling where every saturday and sunday in my life was helping my ole pop pick a parleit card. I don't know if they exist anymore?; but if the line started at 30 and then went to 28 1/2 point spread then bookies are adjusting the line lower because the gamblers are taking UT and the points! :good!:

the lowest last year was miami (26 points).

the week before tennessee. they put up 30 against ole miss the week after tennessee.

the florida offense that tennessee saw in 2008 was not the offense the rest of the league saw in 2008.

Your post is meaningless. You have posted 66-3 I would say not less then 20 times on other UT sites for a year now. Put your money where your mouth is. You are one of the unclassiest Gator fans I have ever seen and your a grown man. Put up or shut up.

I'm not going to say that Percy was all everything for UF, but if you really look at Florida's offense it really is simple. Mostly misdirection!! Percy Harvin was one of the main reasons that team scored tons last year. He had many big plays for lots of yards. He created a lot of short field situations for the gators. I don't think the Chris Rainey and their other Munchkin have his capabilities. I saw Harvin in the NFL!!

here's another little stat for you.....since the point spread is just insane.

the average margin of victory for florida against SEC opponents last season (including the ole miss loss) for its 9 games.

30 points.

i have never posted a score. so, don't confuse me with someone else.

that's the first thing.

second thing, how does one set up a bet in that people actually have to obide by.

So you are not the same 99gator who plagued govolsxtra board for a year now? posting 66-3 every single day. Which is why I stopped reading posts there. It was rediculous to read. There were more gator fans there then Vols it seemed.

no.

the point is the spread isn't outrageous. that's all.

i think it's very possible that florida can cover and would personnally make that wager if i had to.

i can also see tennessee beating the spread as well.

i think it's a fair spread.

i am indeed the same 99gator from GVX.

however, i have never posted any nonsense like a 66-3 score, much less do it every single day.

you probably have me confused with a couple of other gator posters.

but, i have never written anything close to that.
