Anybody who seriously thought he was leaving for Penn St needs to stop doing drugs
It’s not the people that thought he was leaving, it’s the people that were hoping he was leaving that need to stop the drugs. Or maybe get on some, whatever helps w/ their cramps.

If he actually interviewed for the Penn St job it apparently didn't go well after the shot he took at them..

Well, not that I ever thought he was a serious candidate for another job but, ... is that good news or bad? I don’t understand the mentality of VOL fans that think we couldn’t do better if he left. Programs all around us are upgrading or at least trying to. In the end, you get what you settle for.
Two questions to ponder:
1) How many coaching changes in the last few years have resulted in “doing better”?
2) Name at least three specific real life coaches who are currently available that we could get to “do better”.

Saying you want a change is one thing. Having an actual plan for a change is much harder. Firing a coach without having a realistic replacement in mind is what gets you Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt. Granted, We actually had some luck getting Heupel without a plan.

From a practical standpoint, who in their right mind would want to live in Pennsylvania? 😂

EDIT: Right off the top of my head, the only other „vania“ I can think of is Transylvania. Surely not just a coincidence? 😉

Heupel wants more Vandy beatings. Keeps returning to his abuser.

I don’t understand how some women don’t realize where we were when he came here and how far we have come since then
I completely respect your opinion because I’ve argued that to myself many times. It’s a valid point after living thru the cesspool of the 2000’s. But avoiding the expectation of championships out of fear that we go back to 5-7 means that we’re accepting mediocrity as a precaution. I don’t pretend to have the answer. But all the problems that we each post on here are just symptoms of a bigger problem. In my mind it goes back to the fumble recovery in the UGA game where we have a chance to put a boot on their neck and we go ultra conservative and go 3 and out - from that point on this team has been different. Something around that time changed in this team and I have no idea what it may have been. Heup gets another year and the ball is squarely in his court. And next year is much harder schedule wise.

I think a lot of that second half conservatism this season was influenced by Joey‘s history of interceptions. When Heupel has a qb that he really trusts to protect the ball he seems to coach more aggressively (see Hooker in 2022)
With Joey, once he has a lead, I think he is afraid of losing because of one bad decision. The thing that will always stick in my mind from those season was that pick six against Alabama that resulted in a 14 point swing.. Plus Heupel always has faith in his running attack.
Yes that tendency to go into a shell frustrates the stew out of me; but I understand the logic.
I don’t remember exactly what coach said it; but I remember the quotes as being something along the lines of that there are three things that can happen every time you throw the ball and two of them are bad.
That said; I would have loved to score a bunch more points; especially against Florida
