With so much of our experienced D-line depth chewed up by injuries, it puts a premium on getting more 3-and-outs early in the game. D line looked gassed on some of those sustained drives by Syracuse in the 2nd half.

I noticed in the second half Saturday that Banks went to a stunted, or delayed, blitz a lot where the DL would separate and the delayed LB would shoot through to the backfield. It was proving pretty effective.
Hope we keep that as part of the regular D package.

I think our blitzes are more determined by situations and formations based on our opponent's tendencies, rather than just dialing one up when we feel like it.

Once we have to blitz based on our needs--rather than the opportunity the other team is presenting--it probably means we're losing the battle at the line-of-scrimmage, or losing on the scoreboard.
