The offense had its bad moments also, mostly in the QB throwing the ball into traffic and causing interceptions. However, one of the problems I see on both sides of the ball is not playing Freshmen and redshirt Freshmen who have more talent than the guys starting. This is most apparent at the TE and LB positions. Talented Freshmen are not more likely to make mistakes as those upperclassmen who can not Mae plays because they are less talented than those sitting on the bench. I would rather get the more talented players getting experience than to see less talented players making the same mistakes. I would play the most talented players so we could improve as the season progresses and be the best we could be this year and the future years .

My guess would be Brent key, Dillingham, or Lincoln Riley.. again we’re certainly not in a position to “upgrade” at head coach but you have to try and find someone with P4 experience now that the best G5 guys are hired. I hope all this is speculation at this point, only reason I could see Heupel leaving is for a pay raise

Chris Low of On3 and the co-host of the RTI Low-Down gave his thoughts on the rumors during the most recent episode of the podcast. He said that he hasn’t heard Heupel’s name tied to Penn State from anybody that he trusts.

“I’ve not heard Josh’s name at Penn State among anybody that I believe or trust,” Low said. “I think it’s a popular name to throw out there. Penn State is probably in a position now where they got to have somebody that’s had some success, who is established. You look at some of the places that have been looking for coaches that just hired them, Florida has sort of been the antithesis of instability over the last decade. Auburn just hired Alex Golesh, he will be their fourth head coach in seven years. Certainly, you don’t want to get in that rut where you’re just not hiring the right guy.

“I think it’s one of those things where Tennessee is a good enough job and he has done enough and done a lot of the heavy lifting, I think we would agree he has done a lot of heavy lifting, does he right now want to go, and maybe there’s something to be said for restarting your clock, but does he want to go and start that heavy lifting again at a place where you win nine games, you win 10 games, it’s not going to be enough? I think he’s probably too invested in the challenge of getting Tennessee where he wants to get it to go take on another one. I do think that there are going to be names like his that are out there for a job like Penn State. I was really surprised we didn’t hear his name in some of the other ones. But no, I do not believe that to be the case at this point that he’s a real candidate at Penn State.”

Oh for the love of ... come on. COME ON. That plane has made multiple flights from both Knoxville and Gatlinburg to State College Regional Airport over the last month, and probably longer but I'm not going to pay money to find out. Anyone can Google the tail number and see it's hopped all over the south.

What, did Heupel take a secret car to Gatlinburg so he could fly secretly to State College Regional Airport to have secret talks with Penn State? Using a vehicle that can be publicly tracked? Boy he screwed that up then, didn't he?

Seriously. Just. Think. For a few seconds. Just think. Please.

I am beginning to believe that some people just like getting "punked" by trolls on the internet. How else can you explain some of the threads that are getting started on here.
