Haven't looked but when I think of SEC talent in the NFL I'm thinking mostly defense and RB's.

While I think Andy Reid is a great coach, this is a silly take and there is plenty of film to back that up. Mahomes makes some outrageous plays that only he can make.

This is along the same lines as “Brady is only good cause of Bill B.” We saw how that worked out.

As it happened, that is the exact opposite.

My thought as well. How many for instance has Kirby put starting QBs into the NFL? Stafford was not one of his and before him it was Fran Tarkenton.

Brings to mind Eric Zeier. Not affilaited with any current coaches, but was a totally legit, record setting UGA and SEC, still ranked 6th in passing in SEC. Never made it as a starter in the NFL, prob cause his 7 years were with 90's versions of the Browns, Panthers, Bucs, and Falcons. Fit is everything. Man had all the tools and then some coming out of college.

With 32 teams and the average expectancy of a starting quarterback to play 4 years. That would imply that 8 quarterbacks annually will be starters from college to the NFL. I think getting to the NFL period is a win even if they don't start.
